I regard "Empire Falls" and "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao," successive Pulitzer winners as dull. Not terrible, but close to boring. Certainly not wondrous. Don't waste your money when there are much better books out there - say, "Cutting for Stone."

Actually, it won the Pullet Surprise, awarded to the worst turkey of the year.
