Book Description

Naya Adams has given up on feeling
loved. A walking cliché, Naya lost her parents in a freak car
accident at thirteen and has been living with her detached foster
'adults' ever since. When Naya enrolls in one of the most
respected theatre programs in New England, she is more than eager to
trade in her pain for the spotlight. College would finally be the
fresh start she'd longed for.

Unfortunately for Naya,
her high school boyfriend, and abuser, Seth, tags along--trapping her
in the cycle of tarnished love.

Accustomed to emotional
numbness, Naya enters her first acting class, unaware of what was
waiting on the other side of the door: her Twin Flame. Rarer and more
intense than soul mates, Twin Flames search for centuries looking for
their other half. It is in another student, an olive-skinned and
terribly scarred sophomore named Etash, that Naya will discover what
being loved really means.

Although they both try to
resist each other, their bond is ultimately too strong. Together
they'll learn that this is not the first time they have been pulled
together, nor will it be their last.

But how will her
abuser react to Naya's new flame?

Naya Adams enters her first acting class, unaware of what was waiting on the other side of the door: her Twin Flame. But what will her possessive boyfriend think of her new flame?

"It usually takes me weeks to read a book. I'll read a few pages here and a few there. This one truly "pulled" me in. I couldn't put it down, I finished it in two days! I thought it was a great story and very well written. I felt immediately connected to the characters and couldn't wait to find out more about them." Kristan Sola

"I loved this book! "Pulled" kept me entertained from the first page to the last...including the Epilogue! This book was different than any other book I have ever read and I couldn't wait to see how things were going to turn out. It truly was a great read and I can't wait to read her next book!" Sarah Morris

"If you love books about soul mates and love overcoming all obstacles then I highly recommend reading Pulled. The imagery is fantastic, the characters so real you begin rooting for them from page 1. I downloaded Danielle's book last night and finished it in less than 24 hours, which is really saying something for a busy mom." Amy Miles

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Put It Down! September 1, 2011
Format:Paperback
I started reading this book and immediately got caught up in the struggle of the main characters. I was excited to have a new novel to take me through the rest of my summer vacation, but I wound up reading the entire work in one sitting! I was completely engrossed in the struggle of the characters. The empathy and understanding evoked by the author is compelling. The ending is just superb. I cannot wait to read the sequel.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys being completely engrossed in a good read. I found myself lost for several hours, back on a college campus in this dynamic love story with a twist. An extremely well written first novel from this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaged and agitated! August 29, 2011
Format:Paperback
Having recently met the author in a writing class, I learned she had just completed her first novel. I told her I would like to see it and she handed it to me the next day. I began reading it that weekend and every time I tried to put it down, I was "pulled" to pick it up and continue reading. The point of view switch between the two main characters and the sinister foreshadowing kept me engaged and agitated to keep reading. Agitated because I cared about the characters and wanted them to be OK. This is an excellent story, with sensory detail, suspense and unexpected twists and turns. I cannot wait for the sequel. Highly recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved It! February 17, 2012
Format:Paperback
I loved this story! Naya and Etash are two college students attracted to one another despite their differences. The author adds to the tension of their romance by writing her story in alternating points of view. Cool, right? You can see exactly what Naya is thinking about Etash in one scene, then read on and see how Etash responds from his point of view. I think the phrase we had to learn in high school was dramatic irony. The reader is privy to information that one of the characters in a story is not. And that's how Pulled works so well, because you can see what these two star-crossed lovers are thinking about one another and then see how they stumble through their own insecurities and issues. It's kind of tragic.

It's not a perfect novel, and I can see why it's self-published. Etash's scenes don't quite seem authentic. There's times when he's looking at himself undressing or even in how he thinks about himself in a relationship, and it's clear that a woman wrote his point of view. Even though it's from a male 1st-person point of view. By contrast, Danielle's command of Naya's scenes are much more authentic and believable.

Personally, I think this story would be better if the two character's voices were more distinct. I often had to flip back a few pages to see who's scene I was reading, which took me out of the story. And then I would be surprised to find it was Etash's scene because it sounded like a woman's point of view.

At any rate, I definitely recommend this novel. It's a perfect example of why I love my Kindle. Great work, Danielle Banister!
