Book Description

"The phenomenal Barry Morse." -CBC Times

Pulling Faces, Making Noises tells the extraordinary life of Barry Morse, one of the most versatile pros the performing trade has ever known. He's an actor who's led a career more vast and diverse than almost any other in history.

"Barry Morse is one of the most brilliant actors in the world, possessing a superhuman range of characterizations."
--David Greene, Producer/Director

More than a memoir, this is a testament of a theatrical time which will not come again, and of an outstanding actor and human being whose favorite role, or challenge, has always been the next one.

"Barry's life is a virtual history of the twentieth century...and deserves to be read by everyone on the planet, theatre-folk and civilian alike."
--Martin Landau, Actor

5.0 out of 5 stars A record of a remakable life in show business, July 18, 2004
By A Customer
Having seen Barry Morse on stage in his wonderful one man stage show "Merely Players" and hearing bits and pieces of his life story contained within it, I immediately wanted to read his autobiography and learn more. The book is not disappointing. While not a tell-all book - it concentrates more on the actor's professional life than on his personal - it is more of a theatrical memoir. The glowing foreword has been written by Academy Award winning actor Martin Landau and it reflects his obvious admiration of Morse. As a fan of both of Barry Morse's television successes ("The Fugitive" and "Space: 1999") it was interesting to read about his experiences in those projects; entire chapters were devoted to both subjects. From his start as the youngest student ever admitted to RADA on a scholarship, to success on the stage, on radio, and in film and television, Morse brings the reader along on the journey. A must-read book for anyone interested in the world of entertainment and theatrical history!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Confused Customer, September 29, 2005
Since Amazon cancelled my order for this product stating that they were unable to stock the book I am unable to write a review because I haven't been able to source the book from anywhere else at this time. I have given it three stars because it is a required field and, even though I am sure I will love the book when I get it, I can't really rate it until then.
