A small book with a great value,
This review is from: Pulmonary Function Tests in Clinical Practice (Paperback)
Pulmonary Function Tests in Clinical Practice is a comprehensive manual written in a simplified and a very organized way making the understanding of these tests more easy than what many physicians think. Through its 285 pages and 10 chapters it covers all aspects of pulmonary functions that are required for care of patients with respiratory diseases or extra-pulmonary diseases with respiratory involvement. The book gather a wide range of data and information that would be found in divrese sources and the authors have managed to bring all these together in a simple language. The other significant feature of the book is the number and quality of illustarted figures which were over 125 along with 50 summarizing tables. This makes the book a useful source of information for beginers (medical students and residents) and a quick and comprehensive review for pulmonary specialists. Being a non pulmonologist, I found the book very easy to read and without difficulties in understanding the terminologies and definitions mentioned in its different chapters. The exercise cases were of great value in packing up all the informations.
I have no doubt that this book will add to understanding of pulmonary function tests in health care providers of various level of training involved in management of patients with respiratory illnesses.

A perfect book for residents.,
This review is from: Pulmonary Function Tests in Clinical Practice (Paperback)
I find this book very useful, up-to-date and very simple. The concepts are made very clear in this book, unlike other PFT books that I read before. The chapters on ABG interpretation and cardiopulmonary exercise testing are exceptionally useful to me as a critical care resident. I highly recommend this book to all residents who would like to understand the concepts of, and be efficient in interpreting PFT, ABG, exercise testing and polysomnography. I think, it will help us as residents to accurately interpret these tests.
