Book Description

You live in a world of god-awful sequels. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Blues Brothers 2000. Scary Movie 2. It’s rough out there.

But have no fear—here’s one sequel that hasn’t been drained of life by roving hordes of soulless studio execs. Pulp Ink 2’s got beautiful killers, visions of the apocalypse, blood-thirsty rats, and one severed arm on a quest for revenge. No half-assed reboots here, just some of the finest writing in crime and horror today.

Featuring stories by Kevin Brown, Mike Miner, Eric Beetner, Heath Lowrance, Matthew C. Funk, Richard Godwin, Cindy Rosmus, Christopher Black, Andrez Bergen, James Everington, W. D. County, Julia Madeleine, Kieran Shea, Joe Clifford, Katherine Tomlinson, R. Thomas Brown, Court Merrigan, BV Lawson, and Patti Abbott.

“This anthology shone so brightly that I felt I had to wear shades when reading it… This is up there with the best of them and possibly my most enjoyable read this year.” – Darren Sant of Daz’s Short Book Reviews

“Murder and madness, sex and seduction, revenge and redemption, Pulp Ink has a little bit of everything going on.” – Elizabeth White of Book Reviews by Elizabeth A. White

5.0 out of 5 stars SOLID STUFF August 9, 2012
Format:Paperback
An anthology, built around pulp/noir, could easily become an accumulation of catchy expressions and yesteryear's themes. Pulp Ink 2 blows right past all that bidness into a highly varied, delightful collection. From several gritty tales heavily wrapped in excellent prose to others who drum up some outstanding turns of phrase while hammering out graphic yarns, the entire work is a must read. Excellent editing spreads the collection across the spectrum of humor to violence to gore to uncertainty to downright terror. Fail not to add PI-2 to your library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pulp Rainbow August 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
If you start reading Pulp Ink 2 with the expectation of finding only the world of Noir you will be surprised -- that's not what PI-2 is concerned with. There was more to the world of pulp fiction than the honored tropes of PIs, femme fatales and sirens in the night. No, PI-2 is concerned with the other facets of Pulp -- the rainbow of other genres that the pulp magazine industry encompassed in its colossal scope. Each story is its own kind of cat. Every one of them will (if you're old enough or obsessed enough to remember them) conjure up one of those great old pulp magazine covers. In short, whatever you're expecting, prepare to be amazed. Like I said, these tales are their own kind of cat; some stalk, some purr and every single one of them has very sharp teeth.

Great accumulation of short stories from the genre. Particularly loved Kidnapped by Mike Miner. Heart-wrenching. Beautiful. It's a must read.
