I have seen other reviews complain about problems with the Pulsar Kinetic watches. After receiving my PAR147 some of the complaints make me wonder if people didn't read the instructions or understand how the watch works. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
This watch looks even better in hand than it does in the images. The white watch face is engraved/embossed with vertical "ovals" that reflect and catch light and that doesn't show in the images. The contrasting stainless and gold tone band is hefty, nicely finished and comes with a *good* 2 button deployment clasp. (As opposed to barely working, lightweight 2 button deployment clasps I have received on certain name brand watches...) Overall the finish and look is complete from watch band to bezel. Very nice. The only let down might be the exhibition display window on the watch back. It's a small window. But there isn't a lot to look at anyway. The watch movement is very plain - no engraving - and is very uninteresting to look at. For this particular watch I certainly could have done without that exhibition window. Works great. My watch arrived fully functioning with plenty of reserve power already on hand. I wear it about 10 hours a day and it hasn't run out of power since I received it. And most importantly - it's keeping excellent time. Pulsar provides very clear and informative instructions about kinetic watches, including the correct way to get yours going should it completely run out of power. And the instructions explain what it means if the second hand starts skipping in two second increments. It's not a watch defect - that's the indicator that your watch power reserve is low. According to the instructions it's still keeping correct time even in this state. Just follow the instructions for "priming" the watch - the correct way to swing the watch back and forth - to get the power reserve back up to a higher level. There have been several complaints in Amazon reviews about Pulsar Kinetic watches being "defective" with the second hand skipping at a two second pace. I wonder how many of those people actually read the instructions? Overall, I really like this watch. It functions well. The watch band and case are very nicely finished. It looks great and runs great.

Shipping from the seller (CashClock) was fast, took 2 days to get to me. excellent price compared to other sources. It looks even nicer than in the picture - the dial face is actually textured. The crown protector looks somewhat obtrusive in the picture, but does not feel so on the actual watch. It's a bit heavy, but that's expected of a kinetic watch. I've been wearing it on and off (maybe only 4 ~ 8 hours a day) for about a week now, it hasn't run out of juice yet. wish it had a power reserve indicator, but if it indeed runs for 6 months after being fully charged, maybe an indicator is not that important afterall.

At the price I paid this watch is an outstanding buy.The watch is well finished and the bracelet has solid links rather than folded construction links. You are getting a watch that uses a Seiko Kinetic movement which recharges the lithium ion battery via a generator operated by arm movement when the watch is worn. Early Kinetics had problems with limited life of the supercapacitor they used but this is supposed to be solved by the current rechargeable battery which is retrofittable to older Kinetic watches. Claimed life is now approaching 20 years. Time will tell. The watch is fairly large and heavy and claims to be all stainless steel construction for the case and bracelet. I find the two tone finish attractive. I had no problem shortening the bracelet by one link for my 7.5" diameter wrist but if your wrist measures much over 8" the bracelet may be too short. Adjustment at the clasp is minimal so most adjustment has to be by link removal. Very limited watch bracelet adjustment at the clasp is becoming common and I am not in favor of it. The one feature this watch is not fitted with compared to Seiko Kinetic watches is the power reserve check pushbutton. I like the feature and wish that the Pulsar Kinetics had it. It does have a exhibition window in the case back cover which is something that I see little point in on anything but a skeletonized mechanical watch.
