I received this (along with a few other watches) as an anniversary present from my wife after pointing it out to her a few months prior. I had pointed a similar style Seiko 5 automatic out to her since I was looking for a more casual watch for weekend wear, but decided an automatic might not be ideal for this purpose since it would run down during the week while not in use. The Pulsar chrono seemed a good compromise offering the same general styling, quartz convenience and accuracy, and a chronograph as a bonus, all at a great price. I've had Pulsar chronographs in the past and, along with the Seiko connection, was confident it would be a quality piece.

When I received the watch I was impressed further. The case carries a decent heft without being bulky. The chrono functions work with a clear click when the buttons are pressed. The lume is extremely impressive, lasting through several hours of darkness after normal exposure to daylight.

The only real letdown is the band. The Nylon threads have already started fraying on the end of the non-clasp side. A quick melting should eliminate this, but it shows slightly less than acceptable QC on Pulsar's part. This doesn't hinder my impressions of the watch itself and I will likely end up replacing the band all together with something a bit more neutral in color, probably a military style brown leather with white stitching.

At the regular Amazon price hovering around $55 this is a great deal, but it sometimes drops as low as $35 and is an absolute steal making it less than similar offerings from Timex and Casio, while being a notable step up in quality.

I've had this watch for a week; it has survived two sessions of surf kayaking in saltwater. Overall it seems to be a nice watch. Oh, the band is better described as olive green, not camo; it is nylon fabric, with leather inside (you can see some leather peeking out in the photo)

-UPDATE: Had the watch for over 1 year now, it's still working fine. Another similarly styled watch is the SWATCH COMPLETION; the Pulsar is a larger watch with a good bit of heft, while the Swatch is a bit smaller (and lacks the chrono feature).

I just wanted to post this as others may have been as confused about this as I was. I own several Pulsar watches that have similar "3 dial" designs and those watches do have an alarm. Anyway, between it being a Pulsar watch, the "3 dial" design, and the description I thought this watch had an alarm.

The fact that this watch does not have an alarm does not really reflect my views of it. I bought it to give me a different look than my other watches, and when I am wearing this one I don't need the alarm. I just thought I would let people who are looking at this watch know that it does not have an alarm.
