5.0 out of 5 stars An undiscovered gem of a CD., December 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Pulse (Audio CD)
I listen to a lot of punk,rap-core,old metal(like Black Sabbath,UFO,Iron Maiden)stuff. This band kind of puts all these sounds together and comes up with this great CD,PULSE. Some of it sounds like Helmet, and Tool, with some Quicksand, too. I bought this CD after I heard"Vanishing" on the radio last week, WAAF in Boston,(I didn't realize the CD came out in 1997,until I bought it)What a great discovery! I hope their other 2 CDs are this good.I got to get them.Anthrophobia,my new favorite band of the month.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Underground Rock Band on the East Coast, October 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Pulse (Audio CD)
I saw this band open for Savatage in Old Bridge NJ in the summer of 1998.Anthrophobia didn't belong on this bill.'Phobia is the best thing to come outta Pa. ...EVER.Anthrophobia play music that is hard but very musical. If you took White Zombie,Tool,Orange 9MM,Black Flag and a dash of Helmet, you might get it.The cd "PULSE"is really great in the fact it's got good songs and the cd is in a good listenable order, you don't have to skip any songs. The cd has a lot of changes in tempo and vibe.Kind of like a good old metal record by AC/DC but more current with a nod to good old powerful rock.Very little rap stuff, which sets them a part these days in a good way.I am so glad my brother drug me out to see Savatage(A band i don't quite dig too much)and I discovered ANTHROPHOBIA.I recommend everyone buy this as well as any thing new by this underrated band from Pa. If there was any justice in music Anthrophobia would be as big as Godsmack or Rob Zombie!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars loud rock, alittle metal and hardcore.great hooks and lyrics!, July 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Pulse (Audio CD)
I heard these guys on the WARPED TOUR last year. They were a highlight of the day with the DEFTONES and RANCID.I bought PULSE and was not let down.the songs are melodic but heavy kind of like Faith no more mixed with Rollins Band and a shot of Filter and Sick of it All ! It's hard to describe. The songs"vanishing"and"burn down" are the best songs on disc, but it all rocks! Can't wait for the next time they play in n.j . hope the next cd is as good as this one.Buy PULSE,if you think Godsmack rocks,You need to hear ANTHROPHOBIA,they are better.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice alternative rock metal not so mainstream, August 6, 1999

This could be a great new metal band if given the right props. Hopefully they have a strong label to back them and if not it is obviously the labels loss. Do check this out!
