Hungry Lucy Delivers,

I really enjoy this newest Hungry Lucy production. The voice of Christa Belle is haunting in a very effective way. I call their music electronica goth. Hungry Lucy is my favorite electronica band. I don't buy much else in that genre. All ten songs on the cd are great. There is some nice variation in style and great sound effects. This music is soothing and lyrically explores unusual and interesting subjects. If you are a Hungry Lucy fan I suspect you will be happy with this one. They extend their explorations of music with great success here. If you never heard of them I suggest you give them a try. Think of Sade gone Goth and throw in a touch of an Irish Female band that decided to be experimental rather than in a box. This album and their first (Apparitions) are my favorite. The voice of Christa Belle is worth discovering. That voice will get into your head and leave you begging for more. Very enjoyable.

For years I always knew who the band Hungry Lucy was but never got the opportunity to buy their album or the reason really to (kept getting distracted by other artists and bands). This week it all changed when I heard a few tracks off the group's latest album Pulse of the Earth. I decided to order a copy directly from the band's website. I was not disappointed in what I heard. Pulse of the Earth is 42 minutes of pure electronica bliss. Christa Belle's delicate vocals and the programming work of Warren Harrison is a match made in heaven. I felt like I was listening to Delerium around Karma/Poem, Conjure One, Balligomingo with the trip hop beats of Portishead. The lyrics read like poetry. The entire album has a nice cohesive flow. I can honestly say there is not one thing about Pulse of the Earth that I did not like. This is a wonderful album, a real treat to my ears. I definitely plan on checking out the group's other albums.
