Has Sony mentioned anything about it?

I haven't heard anything, but I would imagine that since its a USB headset that they wouldn't leave that ability out. If its a big concern, try shooting Sony a message directly as a customer service question about the headset. They just might have an answer for you.

I twitted Shuhei Yoshida asking about this, and he answered "it has not been answered yet, sit tight..."

Here is an image of the PS4 Retail display, and if I'm not mistaken, this is the headset in the picture. As soon as I get official word I'll probably order a set.

The box still has the text PS3 on it if my eyes don't fool me. That's strange for a PS4 store setup.

EDIT

I was wondering the same thing although I still bought the headset but i waited to open the box before seeing this article. I was satisfied after seeing this.

Just unconfirmed for launch compatibility. Will have to wait for a patch

I saw that. I'm really unhappy because I bought them a couple months ago when they were "confirmed" to be compatible.

I'm also very dissapointed! Let's hope a firmware upgrade will come soon but still I was really expecting to use my Pulse at the release date of the Playstation 4 :(

Yeah, at least it does come with an ear bud until they patch in support for the pulse.

An update at the link above confirms the Turtle Beach PX4 will work at launch (as well as their XP510 and PX51). I'd be fairly surprised if a 3rd party set would work but not Sony's own product... Hoping for confirmation soon or I'll just spend the extra for the Turtle Beach set. :(

Actually, the headset DOES work with PS4 currently (even without support patch) if you hook it up to the 3.5mm audio jack in your controller. Works pretty well, but some advanced features (such as balancing game audio vs chat audio) are not available this way. For those (and to play wirelessly) you'll need to wait for the patch and hook it up via the USB dongle.

Yep. I can confirm that the Pulse Elite headset really does work with the PS4 by connecting it to the DS4 controller via the 3.5mm audio jack. Actually, my observation it that it works in 2 modes:

1) if you DO NOT turn the headset ON, you will still have game+chat audio and the mic also seems to work, but you lose the ability to control volume on the headset. Only way to control volume is via game options (if any).

2) if you turn the headset ON, you should see its usually solid blue led become solid green (when connected via 3.5mm jack) and then you can at least use the headset's master volume control.

Got mine last week and they are pretty nice. I hate cords and the wireless chat and game audio to these are nice. Only thing that sucks is i cant use them a whole lot because I would be a horrible father that cant hear his kids because he has on headsets. Build quality isnt the greatest but for 115 bucks they are plenty good. They should last if taken care of. Even got a long 3.5mm cable so the wife can listen to the tv in the bedroom while i sleep. They sound great on their as well. Tried hooking up the wireless device to the usb on the tv and use it wireless but sound only came out of one speaker and didnt sound good. These are a must buy for your PS4
