5.0 out of 5 stars Essential
This CD is a must-have for any serious fan of club/house/techno music. Technotronic was revolutionary in their treatment of the genre, and their sound is a great example of the late 80's/early 90's club scene. Definitely a pivotal album in the history of dance music.

1.0 out of 5 stars Techno-Tragedy
Ever since Solid Gold has been taken off the air I have constantly struggled with ways to fill up my evenings. I have passed the time by using various outlets such as needlepoint, playing Battleship (alone), and most recently I dipped my pen into the inkwell that is Tae-Bo. But since the hamstring injury that I recently suffered has prematurely cut my Tae-Boing career...

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless classic that marked a grand transition out of the 1980s into the 1990s!, May 26, 2006
This review is from: Pump Up the Jam The Album (Audio CD)
Is it just me or is 1989's "Pump Up The Jam" among the most innovative dance records that I've ever heard even listening it today. The title track is universally popular even today and it's clear why! It is just an incredible and powerful jam for the dance floor. Other songs are the spunky "Come On" as well as the similar track "Rockin To The Beat". Get this CD today!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album, February 22, 2004

This CD is perhaps old but it's still great to listen today. It's one of the classics of eurodance and no one will change it. I really enjoyed every track on this album : if you like one track, you will like all of them because they are similar. My favourites are PUMP UP THE JAM, GET UP [BEFORE THE NIGHT IS OVER], TOUGH, COME ON, THIS BEAT IS TECHNOTRONIC, ROCKIN' OVER THE BEAT and MOVE THIS. The best of these tracks is THIS BEAT IS TECHNOTRONIC : a great "classic techno" track that will make you dance, the band did an amazing job with this track, I love it. But I also listen to the others. A good purchase that you won't regret if you listened and like one track from that album.

This one is a classic. Anyone who likes awesome basslines or dance music in general should have this CD. Every single song on it is great. Another plus is that it is relatively clean.

Amazon should change the album cover they are displaying, however. The one they show is the original release but the one you will actually receive has a pink and purple cover with Ya Kid K on the front. It is the rereleased 1992 version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still great after all these years, October 19, 2008

I can still remember the summer of 1990, when idiot kids, including our little gang consisting of 13-year-old guys, hanging around Lake Balaton (the "sea of Hungary") and "serious adults" alike were dancing to the hits of this album like maniacs and did anything to make the DJ play "Pump Up The Jam", "Get Up", "Move This" or "Rockin' Over The Beat" once again. We preached to the choir though, cause the DJs loved this album just as much as we did.

And then - bang! - today, I stumbled upon this album again. I haven't listened to Technotronic for 18 years, not counting the occasional "Jam" or "Get Up" in discos. I wondered whether I would still like the album or put it back on the shelf as a precious piece of nostalgia. Even though it brought back a lot of memories, to my surprise and set aside the memories, it has aged well. The music is still fresh and is perfect for any activity (dancing, running, treadmill, cleaning, etc.).

All in all, Technotronic is still great after all these years and this album should be on the shelf of everyone with a little love for real and good dance music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, but...Why to change the cover art?, August 3, 2008

When I was 15 this was one of the best LP one could have to party, and now I'm 30 it still is. As I'm replacing my old LPs for CDs, I've just bought it and to play it was a great experience, I've forgotten how wonderfull it is. But I give it 4 stars just for a fact that disappointed me: Why have they changed the cover art? I was really expecting the original cover (with that lady in black and green) but I received from Amazon a totally different pink cover... and the worst: where are the lyrics??? But I must confess that even with this horrible new cover it's fabulous!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great techno music!, September 10, 1998

Technotronic offers their best in the "Pump Up The Jam" album. Absolutely great techno music with lots of bass! Even being from 1989, this CD still is great today in 1998.

gawd, it's been a decade since this was released. writing a review for this, my first english cassette ever, is like reliving my bitter-sweet growing up years. this album pretty much sums up the entire late-80's techno/dance era. a MUST-HAVE!

The music is very hot. if you like techno music, then I recomend this CD. It is the best of the 80s and it make you feel really young. It also make you want to stand up and dance. It's too bad this group did not produce more CDs.
