Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Wine should breathe a little, but not overnight. With Pinzon's wine pump opener, you can keep leftover wine fresh for up to two weeks. The pump, which is constructed of satin-brushed stainless steel, sturdy plastic, and silicone, is easy to use. Simply place one of the two included stoppers on the bottle, place the pump over the stopper, and pump air out until some resistance is felt. This ends the oxidation process, which can turn a favorite Merlot into vinegar. The pump and stoppers will not affect the taste of the wine, and are suitable for preserving all but sparkling wines for up to two weeks. The pump measures six inches high and is dishwasher-safe. It's imported.

After reading the only review, I wasn't sure whether to give this product a try. It seemed as if the reviewer had no idea how to use a vacuum wine stopper, could not figure it out, and was unwilling to ask anyone. Given that hope (and for the great price) I went ahead and ordered the wine stopper and I'm really glad that I did.

This looks 10 times better than the Vacu Vin stopper that I own and works equally well! You could have it out out a fancy party and it would still look fabulous. Also newer Vacu Vin stoppers -- the ones with the dimple in the middle -- can be used with this product. I played with it a lot last night and what fun! What a great stopper!

For those who don't know how to use the product, place a stopper in the bottle with the large end out. Place the opening of the vacuum device straight down covering the stopper. Then you hold the bottom where the stopper is with one hand and pump the air out in an up-and-down motion with the other hand. By removing the air from the bottle, the wine can last for a couple of weeks without turing into vinegar.

Do yourself a favor and buy one. Also buy them as gifts. People who love wine will be pleased and for this price you really cannot go wrong. The stoppers alone are worth the price! This is one of the best deals I've ever seen on Amazon and I shop here all of the time!

Also if you like champagne, you may want to buy a champagne sealer that is really easy to use and also works well. Metrokane Velvet Champagne & Wine Sealer

I thought this was going to be a decent pump, but it has turned out to be less than what I had imagined...which was what it promised. First of all, the pump and stoppers arrived without packaging and without directions. A note was included from Amazon that directed me to go to the website to find out care instructions. The link it suggested offered up ZERO instructions, other than those in the item's description. I tried to extract the air from the bottle, but it never got to the point where there was resistance! After spending more time on it than I wanted to, I realized... I wouldn't need the stopper after all. I simply finished the wine to calm my nerves!!! Tomorrow it will wed the trash can!

Bought this for my wife..... the lush! Keeps wine fresh tasting for days. We drink mostly port wines so can't respond to how it works in the refrigerator. Decent product that does what it's suppose to do.

Poor Quality. Not recommended.
The air tight seal lasts a few hours at best. You might as well be using a cork if you have the plugs that come with this pump. Perhaps different plugs would do the trick?

Works well, but I never use it
This works well but I never use it because I always finish the bottle of wine... If you are not an alcoholic this might be of more use to you. Read more

Iffy quality
I was disappointed with quality of this pump-it didn't work. After fiddling with it a while, the material on one of the seals loosened up some and now sometimes works.

Not the Best Vaccum Pump
It seems to do the job, but I was not that impressed with the product. It does not take out the air to the extent that I would like it to. Read more

Not a wine opener
I actually thought I was ordering a wine opener, but it turned out to be a device that takes the air out of the bottle (of wine)so it stays fresh longer. Read more

good product for a good price
The wine pump works just as advertised. be prepared that it doesn't come with extensive instructions or a fancy box, but it's a pretty simple concept. Read more

Looks good, Works good
Pump has a nice look and finish. Works great, only five or six pumps and a strong vacuum is created, making for a solid seal. Read more

No more cork bits
I think this is a much better way to reclose the wine as there are no cork bits to get into it. It fits perfectly in the neck and is easily removed at ones convenience.

Works very well, no problems.
Amazon had this on sale for 3 bucks so I figured I couldn't pass it up. While it doesn't come with instructions it is totally self explanatory about how to use it. Read more
