5.0 out of 5 stars Autumn and pumpkins go hand and hand September 26, 2011
By SPRock
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great collection of recipes to kick off Fall. Not only are there good, basic recipes, there are also fun decorating tips included too. This cookbook will appeal to the experienced cook and baker as well as the less experienced one, who will appreciate the simplicity of ingredients and clearly written instructions. There's a good mix of recipes using both fresh pumpkin and canned pumpkin. Canned pumpkin isn't 100% pumpkin, but is in part squash. It gives a better texture to many baked goods and has a slightly sweeter taste than pumpkin only. It is easy enough to cook your own pumpkin and squash before mashing and substituting the amounts in a recipe calling for canned pumpkin. I do believe this cookbook would have been even better if it included detailed instructions for processing fresh pumpkin for cooks who haven't tried it before.
I would recommend taking a look at this cookbook if you like pumpkin; it has a really good number and variety of interesting recipes to enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Autumn Gem! September 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is truly a little sweet gem of a book for all the up and coming autumn get-to-gethers! I'm always looking for new recipes to try and this booklet does NOT disappoint!

It contains simple recipes like Apple-Pumpkin Butter and Sugar & Spice Pumpkin Seeds and baked recipes like Pumpkin Biscuits and Pumpkin Coffee Cake.

I was most thrilled to find Dinner in a Pumpkin, Pumpkin Chowder, Sweet Potato-filled pumpkin, October bisque, Autumn soup and Pumpkin Ice Cream pie. Well just about every recipe in this book I want to try, yes even the Pumpkin Fudge and Pumpkin Cobbler! Oh wait, did I mention that there is a recipe for Pumpkin Pie Spice? I'm so going to make this pronto! I really hate paying $4 for 2 oz. of this in the store. Now I have the recipe.

Get this book now! Yum Yum. Fall parties here I COME!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun suggestions plus diverse recipes! September 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Scented jack-o-lanterns? Glitter pumpkins? In between the recipes, there are great ideas in here for centerpieces, pumpkin decorations, and unique ways to use/carve/decorate standard pumpkins and varietal pumpkins outside of cooking.

The recipes are varied: everything from pumpkin seeds with interesting seasonings to pumpkin stew to pumpkin pancakes to pumpkin waffles to pumpkin doughnuts (also used to make ice cream sandwiches!)

Lots of imagination in this book! Perfect time of year to have this book. Enjoy!

By "bought" I mean it was free, so my three star review may not be entirely fair, but that's how I feel. The digital version of the cookbook is a little scattered at times. Read more

I quickly looked at all the recipes. Since I have 15 cans of pumpkin in my pantry, I will be able to try quite a few. Can't wait! They look delicious.

Pretty much every recipe required some of their yogurt. If you don't like yogurt, you won't like this book. Its pretty much an advertisement for their products. Read more
