Don't even try to figure out what to call it.,

Punch Your Lights Out is a 5 song ep... but the music on it? Don't even try to figure out what to call it - you won't be able to. While this collection of songs would be right at home mixed with Mr Bungle, Incubus and World Inferno Friendship Society tunes, there's still a bit of more conventional dance-rock (ala The Killers) in there too. Unafraid to mix diverse influences, these guys cover a lot of territory (latin funk, smooth jazz) but the result isn't just a hodgepodge of random nonsense - its a tight, fun and energetic seventeen minute groove. The songs really flow, too so the result is not just 5 individual songs but a cohesive album... something that's getting rarer in this age of single song itunes sales. Well, so much for trying to describe this ep. Its good, that's all you need to know anyway! And you can just TELL these guys would be a blast to see live, so I fully encourage you to take a chance on this ep, I doubt you'll be disappointed! |
