Awesome Rocking goodness ! This is what real Rock is supposed to sound like .... Big bad and crushing like a rapid Dinosaur coming down your street. Put all that weak nickleback crap in the dumpster and rock out
to the sounds that would make Odin proud.

Any fan of "The RIFF" must own this. WINO has never put his name on a turd, and he certainly hasn't started here with his first "solo" record. Not retro, not metal, not to be described with words, but "felt". Like you, I have spent most of my life in worship of "The RIFF"...the master has returned with another gift, and this time he has brought none other than the dude from Clutch behind the kit...who as you know, is a MONSTER. Props must also be given to J.Robbins (a talent in his own right) for the excellent job he did in putting this to tape.

Only WINO could make a "rock" record sound this special, this effortless, this VITAL in 2009.

Gets better every listen, probably the best thing the man has ever done. That's saying something if you know anything about the legendary Wino. Nasty guitar tones, great songs and a pummeling rhythm section, if he comes to your town and you miss it you're dumber than a stump.

He's done it again! When I first heard "Release Me" I must say I was a little worried. It was included on a sampler I received and didn't really grab me. But of course it's grown on me. If you're looking for Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan or The Hidden Hand then you will be disappointed. But if you're looking for signature Wino then you won't be disappointed. Amazingly every band Wino plays in has their own sound, and Punctuated Equilibrium isn't any different. Somehow Wino continues to redefine himself over and over again. On Punctuated Equilibrium there's plenty of Wino riffage, and solos which only Wino can pull off. Just check out track 6 (Wild Blue Yonder). This is the instrumental on the album. Here Wino treats us to a guitar solo that you hope never ends. As far as highlights go, the whole album would fall into this category. You can play Punctuated Equilibrium from start to finish over and over, no need to skip around.

Bottom Line: If you're looking for a duplication of a certain band or sound from the Wino catalog, you won't find it here. But if you're looking for Wino riffs and solos that won't disappoint and somehow keep redefining the "Godfathers" career, then this is a must buy!

His other stuff never really appealed to me.but this new disc is right up my arm.It's Hard rock,hard blues and has a moody edge to it.Which makes it a real cool listin.There's not a bad tune on this disc.He has found something cool in what he is all about again.As long as he understands, this is the music for him to expand upon, grow and make his very owm.The past is gone.Time to grow up for a much,much cooler heavier sound.I'm impressed in this weak world of music that going on today. So grap a beer or 5 or 6,put the head phones on and let it rip.
