3.0 out of 5 stars Good Work!, April 14, 2009
This review is from: The Pundits: British Exploration of Tibet and Central Asia (Paperback)
'Pundits' goes in depth into what 'Kim' and even Hopkirk's books touch upon. His attempt is to show how the native (sic) Indians were engaged by their masters to map territory that the 'whites' could not. Again, there is not a lot of information available to us on these 'pundits' but from whatever Waller has been able to obtain, it's enough for serious students of the region.

The book is quite detailed so those whose interest does not border on the scholarly, it could be a tad plough-through...I speed-read some passages but then some episodes are truly to dwell upon...read the book if you want dates, routes, precise geographic descriptions, etc. Otherwise attempt some works of Hopkirk in the same genre...
