If you are looking for a great starter board for a young girl, this one should definitely be on your list. My daughter just took up skateboarding and loves this board. It functions as good as it looks! The price is comparable to those cheap ones you see at the box stores, but this skateboard has better components by far (great trucks, and good wheels, and a great deck.).
For a beginner (and even intermediate skater) you want to have soft flexible trucks (The square component the wheels attach to) that will allow the rider to make easier turns. The ones in the box store are typically very hard making the ride uncomfortable and hard to maneuver. Even if you don't buy this one, do your skater a favor and do not buy a store bought prefab toy. Buy them the real deal, they will enjoy it more and be more apt to stay with it.

I purchased this skateboard for my daughter's birthday! She's been asking for a skateboard for years and was too young before. She started riding the first day and hasn't stopped yet...22 days and rolling. This is a great item for her, she's a beginner and looks like a natural. Board is sturdy and large enough so she can use it for years. I would definitely recommend this skateboard to others.

I bought this board for my daughter's 8th birthday and it's solid. I wasn't expecting much, just wanted her first board to be better than a Disney Princess board from Target. I searched board shops in Los Angeles and Santa Monica and by comparison to professional quality boards (at $135 and up), this one was fairly similar. Good maneuverability and construction. This is my daughter's first skate board and she's thrilled with it. It has nice graphics and "flow like the wind" or the Chinese symbol for feng shing (I think that's close) on the bottom. Artwork is tasteful. Shipped overnight with no problems. If you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend buying this board.

I have to agree with everyone else. The quality and craftsman ship of this skateboard is excellent. We returned the RazorX Sweet Pea due to poor quality and replaced it with this one. It costs more, but it's worth it.

This skateboard is attractive, well built, and has quality materials. I didn't find anything even close in quality for twice this price. It was a gift for my daughter and she loves it! You won't be disappointed.

This was a gift for my 9 year old and it is durable and pretty and exactly what we were expecting.

Quality, made for first timer perfect for 7-10 yr old beginner. Really is the best for the money. Top of the board has nice sure grip bottom is really pretty. Wheels have a nice response to pressure but do not roll so fast to slip out from under them.

Purchased this for my 9 year old to replace a cheaper one she got for Christmas that kept pulling to one side. This one seems to do the same thing. When sitting flat with noone standing on it, all 4 wheels don't touch the ground. Is this normal? Does it need breaking in?
