5.0 out of 5 stars Forget What You Heard, This Title Is Great, May 11, 2007
This review is from: Punisher Vs. Bullseye (Punisher (Unnumbered)) (Paperback)
I can't believe the reviews for this one. This book, basically a sequel to Bullseye's Greatest Hits, is a fun, funny read. Masterfully illustrated by the legend Steve Dillon and written with force by newcomer Daniel Way, this book is a treasure. If you liked Ennis' MK run on Punisher, Lobo, or Bullseye, this book is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Would you say Bobby's an intellegent man?, July 8, 2009
This review is from: Punisher Vs. Bullseye (Punisher (Unnumbered)) (Paperback)
Punisher is the usual death avatar for goombahs in this one, but the star of the show is bullseye. Marvel's joker, he's recently assumed epically homicidal proportions. For example, in one bit bulleye's pondering why the punisher hasn't opened fire, "Well, he hasn't attacked yet...but that's probably because he knows I'll start wasting civilians." It's a very violent, high body count affair with flawless kinetic timing. Every time I read it, it renders itself right before my eyes as a big budget, summer blockbuster.

Some of the best smashmouth action comics available and Messieurs Way and Dillon execute with panache on psycho versus "joker". Daniel Way writes with wit, deft plotting and a very highest density of goosebump moments. Dillon still can't draw women but fortunately neither story feature many and he does great muzzle flashes. Eerily similar to Supreme Power: Nighthawk, both written in 2006 by this team and both hella awesome.

1.0 out of 5 stars Was there really a call for a Bullseye book?, October 31, 2006

This review is from: Punisher Vs. Bullseye (Punisher (Unnumbered)) (Paperback)
And make no mistake, this is a Bullseye book. The Punisher seems to be only around to give the piece some name recognition and to be Bullseye's whipping boy. Basically, Bullseye makes Castle look like a fool for the whole run. You keep waiting for the Punisher to lower the boom on him (he has, after all, beaten Bullseye many times before)but Bullseye is constantly getting the better of him. Fans of the Punisher -- and I can't imagine anyone else would pick this one up -- should avoid it like the plague. Trust me, it will just make you mad.
