Surprisingly good,
By N. Durham "Big Evil" (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Punisher: War Zone (Audio CD)
A vast improvement over the soundtrack to the 2004 Thomas Jane-starring Punisher movie, the Punisher: War Zone soundtrack offers up a good amount of head banging tunes that fit the tone of the film, and even the character. Rob Zombie's "War Zone" is worth the price of admission alone, offering some excellent guitar and drum work, as well as a chorus that perfectly captures what the character is all about. Thrash legends Slayer offer up "Final Six" from "Christ Illusion", which is good, as is Slipknot's catchy lead single from their recent "All Hope is Gone" album, "Psychosocial". Hatebreed churns out a solid cover of Sepultura's classic "Refuse/Resist", and newcomers 7 Days Away offer up the pretty good "Take Me Away". Other tracks from Machines of Loving Grace, Rise Against, and Static-X are decent, while the songs from Seether, Kerli, Senses Fail, and most definitely Justice's "Genesis" just seem out of place. Still, the Punisher: War Zone soundtrack ends up being surprisingly good regardless, and it's a big improvement over the soundtrack to the last Punisher flick.

Do You Love Metal and Punk? Then This Is a Great C.D. For You,
This review is from: The Punisher: War Zone (Audio CD)
I saw this movie in December when it came out and I gotta say it was a very fun and entertaining flick. I was in my opinion the best of the 3 Punisher films as it stays the truest to the comic books, also what a soundtrack! I love Slayer, Rise Against, Senses Fail etc..It's very loud and rockin with a few electronic breaks which I don't mind cause i've come to appreitiate Justice and that Daft Punk kind of sound. This c.d. also features the new track by Rob Zombie written for the film called "War Zone" and the headbangin aggression fueled Slipknot track "psychosocial". Awesome c.d. definatley worth buying if you love metal and punk.

Sounds cool,

I am so glad that the actual film had orchestral music through most of it and not just heavy metal. The songs on the soundtrack are pretty awesome though.
