Book Description

The dark schemes of ancient gods threaten to throw the entire land of Weldera into chaos. The spirit Pelas is worshiped as a god in the fortress of Dadron, which stands impregnable in the center of Falsis. But his ancient rival has returned after a 1,400 year exile, and drives the people of Amlaman to plot against Dadron, hoping once and for all to break the dominion of Pelas.
Good and evil prepare for the coming clash; but for the people caught in the midst of the struggle, the difference between the two seems to vanish away.

The noble descendants of a woodsman hero are betrayed by their own countryman. A troubled young man is tormented by strange visions and dreams. An embittered prince struggles for power in a land long impoverished by weak-hearted kings. A fearsome monster fights for the only woman ever to have shown him kindness. A lost soul searches for a link to its forgotten past. Ancient gods struggle to regain the power they once held over men.

The Punishment of the Gods is a nearly 300,000 word epic fantasy story spanning five books.

Book I: The Legacy of Galvahir
Book II: The Fell Wolf
Book III: The Vestron Monster
Book IV: The Siege of Dadron
Book V: The Siren's Song

Editorial Reviews

Review

'Yaniak's The Punishment of the Gods is a creative, fresh edition to a genre that many times tends to get lost in the same story retold in different ways. Though the length can be a little daunting, and a turn off for some, but the way the story flows and the authors writing keeps you vested throughout.'
'Yaniak delivers a solid, fresh story that feels both new and familiar at the same time. Each book tells its own story and each of those stories becomes on epic tale that truly shows the author's dedication to his craft.' - Zach Tyo

About the Author

I was born and raised in New Jersey; and I am New Jerseyan through and through, wherever life may take me. For Christmas one year my parents bought me a Lord of the Rings computer game. I started playing it and was so inspired by the story that I put the game aside and did not touch it again until I had read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Those books sparked within me a love of reading in general and a love of fantasy literature in particular. My favorite genre, however, is philosophy, particularly as it relates to ethics and metaphysics. This, together with my love of the fantastic, is the inspiration for my writing. In my reading I have seen how ideas affect history. For this reason it has been important to me to not simply tell a story, but to show how the characters interact with different ideologies and ethical dilemmas. I want my readers to at least understand, even if they do not sympathize with, the villains of the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read September 12, 2013
Format:Paperback
Yaniak creates a vivid new world, with characters that feel new yet are familiar. Punishment of the Gods is a well written and more than worth the read.

The length is daunting, at least if you're a reviewer with a deadline, but it keeps you vested throughout.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Omnibus of Epic Fantasy In Disguise July 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Punishment of the Gods is truly epic--coming in at 770 pages, this book is for the reader who likes a deep, long experience. The prose may at first seem stunted, as in the first few sentences, where something simple is explained in circular fashion (one particular character's willingness to speak up or keep quiet), but if you push on, you'll be rewarded by Yaniak's complex vision.

The plot falls on Daryas Galvahirne's journey to destroy several powerful rivals, all while keeping happy his lover. The plot occurs through the course of five total books, and for the price, there are few deals comparable to this on the Kindle Store.

If you want really deep lore, mythology and elves thrown in the mix, and a wonderful spin on the fantasy genre by Yaniak, then pick this up. It's for those readers wanting a deep experience in epic fantasy.
