I'm old-- and I know punk. I've been collecting punk since the first Ramones album came out on vinyl. I've read and listened and swapped stories with people of similar interest. But I must admit, I never heard of this jem. I picked it up not expecting much because it is dead cheap and I was looking for some UK Subs. What a great find! Not only did I get some great footage of vintage Subs live, but a snapshot of the period and the attitude that goes along with it. Julien Temple does a great job of weaving it all together, and John Snagge's WW-II newsreel naration style really helps raise this 20-odd minute short to classic status. The bonus tour of Sub's guitarist Garritt's memrobilia is pretty cool too. A must have for anyone interested in early UK punk and the period.
