This easy to use garland is realistic looking, and wraps nicely around banisters, shelves, or mantels. We put ours going up the stairway, and then finished it off with some gold garland to make it sparkle. It does not shed, and is soft to the touch. After Christmas, it will pack up for use next year. Definitely a good buy.

I couldn't believe it when I got home and read the back of this garland which said it contained LEAD and should not be handled by small children. As a mother and pediatrician, I felt horrified that this product would be available. The website DOES NOT mention this when you read the information. I emailed Target to get a response to my concerns and received the following information: "Since every retailer needs to comply with a California law known as Proposition 65, suppliers label all products that might contain lead, even if they end up being sold in other states. The U.S. Government Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) performs yearly product tests on representative samples of holiday lights and trees.

They have found that the amount of lead in holiday lights and trees isn't currently a safety concern."

I personally do not feel reassured that my children will be safe around this product. Lead poisoning is an extremely serious illness and not easily evident. It can lead to developmental problems that might not be detected early enough.

I feel no reason to expose my children or myself to such a product.

I wish they looked a little more real, but they are great for the money. Having them be pre-lit however can't be beat! I use them indoors on top of furniture. Happy Holidays!

I agree with the review by Sarah. All of the lights and prelit items that I saw at the store have the same message. "Known to cause cancer" and "wash hands after handling" have a negative effect for Christmas joy. We do not let the childern play with the lights and tree but will not allow these items in our home and will not visit others that do. Please preserve our childerns health and happiness for the future.<br />

I just jumped on line to purchase more strands of garland through Targets website and I was immediately drawn to the reviews. This product contains lead and should not be used around small children. Needless to say, I will be returning my strand currently hung on my banister to Target immediately !!!!

I used this garland to hang over a side table. It was simple to decorate the house this way. This is a nice garland at a good price.
