I'm not quite sure why--but quite often an excellent cover can be better than the real thing. Punk Goes Pop remakes all the catchy but slightly annoying now radio hits from the past year in a fresh way. Not all of the covers are created equally--but overall it's just a fun record. Brilliant--no, Fun--yes.

These albums are great. I'm a huge Silverstein fan so love their remake of runaway. This whole albums rocks. It's fun to hear music you usually would not like rewritten with a different spin or even some music you do like with a new twist. I hope they keep putting these albums out.

I've listened to this album a few times now, and I fugured it would grow on me as the other punk goes albums do. This one has not. There a few decent songs on this album, but not really any epic song that I could listen to over and aver again, but that happens when all of the original songs they coverd in this album sucked. Also there are a bunch of no name bands on here. When I hear covers of songs, I like to hear them by bands that are good, not some garbage nobodys. The "Bonus Disc" I Got with mine was better then the actual CD, although they are not covers of other songs. Overall I'm just disappointed in the direction they went with this album.

I usually get these albums for a laugh but this one had some really great up and coming bands. For example, Secret's version of Ass Back Home is much better than the original. It's worth checking out

Cover songs are always a little hit or miss. This compilation is no different. There are some real winners here. Of course music preference varies for everyone so results may vary. Overall the tracks are good but 3 stand out as being just too similar and maybe even a little lazy following an almost identical pattern of hardcore screaming verses then softer hook and chorus these being Last Friday Night, We R Who We R, and You Belong with Me (the worst of these). Stand outs include Runaway, Forget You, Just the Way You Are and Love the Way You Lie all are excellent covers taking an original song throwing a stylish twist on it and making it their own.

I bought these CD's for my husband before a long road trip, I figured that it would be a great way to combine both of our tastes in music so we ween't fighting over the Ipod. I can only handle so much screaming with my husband's music, however this is different. Yes, they are punk and there are some heavier songs between the 4 Cd's. But it is something that you just don't hear on the radio. It is such a great collaboration between the 2 genres!

read a couple of reviews for this and most of em said that Amyst was the artist covering Rolling in the Deep. I must say that was a huge letdown for me as one of my favorite artists is Amyst and i love their cover of Adele. This CD has the cover being done by Go Radio...Immensely dissapointing, but other then that i enjoyed the CD. Would buy again but i'm annoyed i now have to download the Amyst Cover.
