3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good May 15, 2003
By Mike
Format:Audio CD
This album is ok but no big deal. It's not the greatest punk comp. Cd in the world but it's fun and it's [inexpensive], so I say buy it if it's the only punk comp in the store (I even saw this one at [my local store]). I think they should start putting live tracks on Punk O Rama CDs, but hey that's just me. Personally I've always preferred "Fat Music For Fat People" Or "Lookout Freakout" better. But like I said it's fun and if you have [money] to burn I say get it, unless you can get your hands on a Fat Music or Lookout Freakout CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like it January 25, 2003
Format:Audio CD
I don't know what the other reviewers are thinking. Buy Boxcar Racer and Sum41 instead? You have to be kidding! This album is great with Millencolin's FINGERS CROSSED, THE WORLD by Pennywise, BACK TO OLYMPIA by NOFX and Guttermouth's MY GIRLFRIEND. Not one bad song on Punk-O-Rama 7, and it's only six dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars this punk o rama is a must own July 27, 2003
By Marcus
Format:Audio CD
this cd is awesome! If u have the last 6 Punk o Ramas, this 1 is no expection. is a must have! great songs by death by stereo dkm rancid/nofx byo splits cover songs pennywise, bad religion,1208, 98 mute deviates division of laura lee and hot water music are kick [ ]! also the millencolin song and pulley bouncing souls songs are great! all the songs(in my opinion r great) except guttermouths my girlfriend. ..... but over all this records rocks and any punk o rama epitaph puts out is raw! real punks could could handle this not the posers on mtv punk rock. althogh this one has pop punk and a few sorta indie emoish tracks inc, doll, hot water music and randy) this is still a good cd so punks of the world pick up this album! Punk Rocks!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not just for being cheap....... February 18, 2003
Format:Audio CD
Ok let's admit it ....this is not the greatest punkorama..maybe the guys behind this movement had a lack of effort choosing the songs....the NOFX song it's awesome but an unreleased song would be OK....oh yeah...this album lacks of unreleased material...just an unreleased song from guttermouth that it's quite funny instead of hard rocking.....but it's cool....and we gotta admit that it's not a great album....but Sum 41 it's not worth 10 times better that this punk 0 rama like a poser england dude named eddy wrote in this review section...estamos....ok

1.0 out of 5 stars . December 20, 2002
Format:Audio CD
This is ridiculous. Out of the 19 tracks on this CD, 5 are currently available for download on Epitaph's webpage [Pennywise, Division Of Laura Lee, Randy, Death By Stereo, and 98 Mute]. 2 are available on BYO Records webpage [you guessed it, the Rancid and NOFX tracks are both from the split]. At least 2 [that I can remember] have also been previously available for download on Epitaph's webpage [the Millencolin and Hot Water Music songs]. Even if you don't believe in downloading whole CDs, if you would have kept your eyes open you would have already downloaded half of this CD legally. Maybe it's just me, but I think that's lame.
Another lame thing about this comp is the lack of unreleased material. Only three bands contributed new, unreleased material - Death By Stereo, Hot Water Music, and Guttermouth. Not exactly Epitaph's "A List." The Guttermouth song is trite and sophomoric. The Hot Water Music song has *way* too many "woah"s in it and is now my least favorite HWM song ever. Death By Stereo, a band that I never really liked before, doesn't do much to change my mind here with this new song. All in all, the unreleased material was a big dud.
As for the previously released material [that's not already available for download somewhere], the [International] Noise Conspiracy's "Up For Sale" is by far the best track, followed closely by Beatsteaks' "God Knows." Bad Religion and Pulley both give good rockers off their last albums, and I actually like the Deviates song [okay, more like I can tolerate it].
For a label that has been doing so much growing artistically in the past year, this sampler reeks of stagnancy and complacency. A lot of these releases that the songs are from came out over a year ago. Where's the new blood of the label?

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd or 3rd best punk o rama but good none the less July 23, 2002
By Greg
Format:Audio CD
Let's put it this way: by most standards this is a great cd, but for long time Epitaph fans like me it's just solid. It far and away blew punk o rama 6 out of the water but did not really measure up to punk 5 or even punk 4 in some ways. This compilation begins with a very good song by Millencolin and then follows up with a stellar hook coming from Hot Water Music. But the next track is really sub-par compared to T(I)NC'S punk 5 song which is one of the best on any punk o rama cd. Track 4 is Pennywise's song "The World". Probably the best song I've heard from them and that's saying something because I love pennywise. It's the second best song on the cd. The next track is by the new Division of Laura Lee. It's pretty good for a new band and compared to the wretched other new band on here: 1208. What can I say about NOFX's cover of Olympia? It's better than the original and positively the best song on this cd. This doesn't rule the same for Rancid's cover of NOFX'S Bob. It's a good song though. Randy has a great song in track 7. Pulley is average. Bouncing Souls and Beatsteaks go great back to back on any cd. Bad Religion, who I'm not really in to, has an awesome song. Deviates are fair. THIS WAS NOT THE BEST DKM SONG TO PUT ON THE CD. Come on! Sing Loud Sing Proud is one of my favorite cd's and this is a good song but what about Finn Maccool, Which side are you on?, Rocky Road to Dublin, or even For Boston? And they did this before on punk 6 with The Gauntlet which [was bad]. DBS is no good but Agnostic Front is great (I suggest buying dead yuppies)The new 98 mute song is good and Guttermouth is misrepresented by ska but still a good song as usual. Just listen to these tracks: 1,2,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,13,14,16,18,19. Keep in mind a lot of these are only fair to good. On punk 4 or 5 you will find 20 songs that will keep you hooked. Buy it if you are a punk fan, but you won't be dazzled.
