Editorial Reviews

The latest installment in the largest punk rock comp series of all time also marks its 10th anniversary and Epitaph is going all out to make it special with a bonus DVD of 21 music videos and unreleased tracks from The Offspring, Bad Religion, Hot Water Music, The Bouncing Souls, The Coup, This Is Me Smiling, The Matches, Scatter The Ashes, The Special Goodness, and Dangerdoom. Nearly half the bands on this release will also be on this summer's Van's Warped Tour, and this is the only place you can hear new music from Danger Mouse and MF Doom's latest collaboration, "Danger Doom" coming this autumn.

1.0 out of 5 stars Punk????, June 30, 2005
By
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
OK, why you even think about putting the word punk on this CD? It seems that if you have a little whiny voice and can scream every so often like a little girl then you can call yourself punk...In all it is nothing more than EMO crap! And that is mostly what this CD is comprised of, except for the likes of BR, Pennywise, The Disasters and DKM, this CD is awful.

Do yourself a favor and stick with the first five releases of Punk-O-Rama and let's hope in the future that when Epitaph releases a CD with the word "punk" in it you are getting what you pay for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Punk -O Rama?, July 3, 2005

Brett Lemke (www.maximumink.com) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
Punk-O-Rama Volume 10 proves to be lackluster at best. Though there are some choice cuts from The Dropkick Murphy's & Rancid, the Free DVD containing the music videos is about the only selling point of the compillation. The coverart is pretty cookie-cutter as well, leaving me wondering why I purchased the record. I'm telling myself it was for the unreleased tracks that are featured on the set, but even they draw a wince. It's nice to hear from the Dropkicks, But "Warrior's Code" and "Tessie" sound like outtakes. Perhaps they will be better live. A more apt title would be neo-punk-o-rama volume 4. Good luck with the next one? All content copyright www.maximumink.com

1.0 out of 5 stars Enough Emo, June 27, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
This is the worst Punk o Rama yet. Bad Religion is the last respectable aspect of epitaph, and that is an old song. These albums getworse and worse. Do yourself a Huge favor pick up any of the first four volumes of Punk o Rama, Because thats the only way you're going to hear true punk Rock.
