5.0 out of 5 stars Lost genre
It is sad to say that the punk genre is lost, and it warms my soul to see a comp full of the greats. Not to mention unreleased goods I've never heard. I haven't picked up Punk-o-rama since 3 and I'm super glad I picked this one up. If you only picked this one up for Offspring your a retard. Why pick up a comp for only one band? You should pick this up because of NoFX,...

1.0 out of 5 stars Punk????
OK, why you even think about putting the word punk on this CD? It seems that if you have a little whiny voice and can scream every so often like a little girl then you can call yourself punk...In all it is nothing more than EMO crap! And that is mostly what this CD is comprised of, except for the likes of BR, Pennywise, The Disasters and DKM, this CD is awful.

Do yourself a favor and stick with the first five releases of Punk-O-Rama and let's hope in the future that when Epitaph releases a CD with the word "punk" in it you are getting what you pay for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Punk -O Rama?, July 3, 2005

Punk-O-Rama Volume 10 proves to be lackluster at best. Though there are some choice cuts from The Dropkick Murphy's & Rancid, the Free DVD containing the music videos is about the only selling point of the compillation. The coverart is pretty cookie-cutter as well, leaving me wondering why I purchased the record. I'm telling myself it was for the unreleased tracks that are featured on the set, but even they draw a wince. It's nice to hear from the Dropkicks, But "Warrior's Code" and "Tessie" sound like outtakes. Perhaps they will be better live. A more apt title would be neo-punk-o-rama volume 4. Good luck with the next one? All content copyright www.maximumink.com

1.0 out of 5 stars Enough Emo, June 27, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
This is the worst Punk o Rama yet. Bad Religion is the last respectable aspect of epitaph, and that is an old song. These albums getworse and worse. Do yourself a Huge favor pick up any of the first four volumes of Punk o Rama, Because thats the only way you're going to hear true punk Rock.

1.0 out of 5 stars Crap-O-Rama, June 21, 2005

This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
Another bad Epitaph compilation. I hear Emo, hiphop, all crap. The only good song is a TEN YEAR OLD SONG by Bad Religion. This label lost all the good bands years ago.
Compare this with Punk-O-Rama 2, know what I mean?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Mix, June 13, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
I'm not that upset that Epitaph have opened their doors to other musical genres other than punk. Of the three rap songs on this comp i honestly only like the Sage Francis song and I don't see him ever opening for snoop dog or 50 cent. Of the emo songs (which is not a genre i'm opposed to) I unfortuantely didn't really care for any of them. They weren't awful but they weren't anything new. What really shines on this comp are the older bands. Freeman's bass playing on "White Knuckle Ride" was worth the 4.99 at Best Buy. Tiger Army, The Offspring, Pulley, Bad Religion, Millencolin, Hot Water Music and Dropkick Murphys all contribute great songs to this comp. 26 songs for 5 dollars, I really can't complain.

Not to mention "The Coup" a early 90's rap group who instead of preaching gang-bang rapped about opening your mind.

I suggest everyone go pick up Operation Ivy's "Energy" and get back to what punk is all about! Unity

4.0 out of 5 stars Meh... it's not all punk, but it ain't bad..., June 10, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
Alright. I have been collecting the punk o ramas since 4. After 6 came out, punk o rama has been going down the drain. When I first listened to this, I was expecting (and hoping) some more punk from like the early punk o ramas. I have to say, I was really disappointed after I first listened to it. After listening, I watched the dvd which was ok... I was surprised that there was emo and even..... rap...... But, after listening to it a few more times with an open mind, the cd isn't that bad. I mean, if you don't look at it as a punk o rama, than it's not that bad at all. I know that's defeating the purppose of the cd... but if you just open your mind, it isn't that bad at all. Just disregard the emo and the rap. I myself am trying to like emo and see all it has to offer. If you do like emo, than cd is for you. "From First to Last" is definately a big emo band which is rising to probably be one of hte best.

For all those hardcore punk fans, I don't know what to say for you. There are some good stuff on here though. There is some "Bad Religion" (which isn't unreleased, I know why it says it is but...), "Some Girls" which is a new hardcore punk band, which sounds a lot like oonverge. Some old "Offspring" is there and it is really really good, plus it is unreleased, making it even better. "Converge" is on the cd as well and all I can say about them, is that they're amazing lol. "Hot Water Music" has an unreleased song... If you liked their new album "The New What Next" than you will love the song they have to offer in this cd. "Bouncing Souls" is also on the album.... and they have always been great. Plus it's live, which is even better, since they are really good live. "Millencolin"'s song from their new cd is on there and like "Bouncing Souls" and "Bad Religion", "Millencolin" will never disappoint. "Dropkick Murphys" has a song from their new cd and they are always great... a great punk punk band. "The Unseen" also have a really powerful song from their new cd and they are becomming really big on the hardcore punk scene (get their new cd). Songs from great bands from their new cds that follow is "Rancid", "Pennywise", "Pulley" and "Tigerarmy". "Nofx" has a new song on the cd and they're always great as well. If you got their "Greatest Songs by Us" cd and you liked the song Wore the Souls of My Party Boots, than you will love this new song or if you liked "War on Errorism".

So all in all, this punk o rama wasn't that bad. Yah, we would've liked songs from Death By Stereo, who has a new cd out, Guttermouth, Raised Fist, Dillinger Escape Plan and manny others... but they didn't, so suck it up. There are some good bands on here, minus the emo and the TWO rap songs. A lot of fans are going crazy that the whole cd is full of rap, when there are only 2 rap songs. Yah, it's 2 rap songs too many, but it doesn't ruin the whole cd. It may ruin epitaph's reputation, but not the cd. And if you don't like emo, than that's a few more, but when you edit those out from the cd, you've got a good punk o rama. Soo, I'm giving this a 4 out of 5 starts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Punk. At all., June 12, 2006

This cd is just not punk. Period. Not at all. It's emo/screamo at best, but some songs lean closer to pop. That being said, there are some decent bands on here: The Matches, From First To Last, Bad Religion, Dropkick Murphys, and The Unseen are the only bands that semi-save this cd.
The one thing I just can't figure out is how ANYONE can call Sage Francis's song "Sun vs. Moon" punk??? It's 100% rap, and bad rap at that. And Youth Group's "Shadowland" is about as punk as Jessica Simpson. All in all, this cd just isn't what it claims to be, and sets punk way back.

3.0 out of 5 stars I'm sorry, but was the below "review" really a review? Or just some idiot trying to sound smart?, July 29, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
I feel just the same as all you that wish the Punk-O-Rama series was cooler and actually put some Punk stuff on their CDS. But honestly, I gave up on this compilation series long ago.

Just stick to buying the artists CDS.

3 stars for the effort of Epitaph to make some more money. Go figure.

3.0 out of 5 stars GOOD STUFF FOR THE PRICE........BUT, June 7, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 10 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO THESE COMPS FOR YEARS, MAINLY JUST FOR THE OFFSPRING AND RANCID STUFF, BUT THIS YEARS COMP. WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING. SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF RAP MUSIC FOR A PUNK COMP. NOT THAT THAT'S A BAD THING, BUT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A PUNK-O-RAMA, NOT A RAP-O-RAMA. I RECOMMEND THE VAN'S WARPED TOUR COMP. INSTEAD OF THIS ONE.
