5.0 out of 5 stars I like it
I don't know what the other reviewers are thinking. Buy Boxcar Racer and Sum41 instead? You have to be kidding! This album is great with Millencolin's FINGERS CROSSED, THE WORLD by Pennywise, BACK TO OLYMPIA by NOFX and Guttermouth's MY GIRLFRIEND. Not one bad song on Punk-O-Rama 7, and it's only six dollars.

This album is ok but no big deal. It's not the greatest punk comp. Cd in the world but it's fun and it's [inexpensive], so I say buy it if it's the only punk comp in the store (I even saw this one at [my local store]). 3.0 out of 5 stars Not just for being cheap......., February 18, 2003
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 7 (Audio CD)
Ok let's admit it ....this is not the greatest punkorama..maybe the guys behind this movement had a lack of effort choosing the songs....the NOFX song it's awesome but an unreleased song would be OK....oh yeah...this album lacks of unreleased material...just an unreleased song from guttermouth that it's quite funny instead of hard rocking.....but it's cool....and we gotta admit that it's not a great album....but Sum 41 it's not worth 10 times better that this punk 0 rama like a poser england dude named eddy wrote in this review section...estamos....ok

1.0 out of 5 stars ., December 20, 2002

This is ridiculous. Out of the 19 tracks on this CD, 5 are currently available for download on Epitaph's webpage [Pennywise, Division Of Laura Lee, Randy, Death By Stereo, and 98 Mute]. 2 are available on BYO Records webpage [you guessed it, the Rancid and NOFX tracks are both from the split]. At least 2 [that I can remember] have also been previously available for download on Epitaph's webpage [the Millencolin and Hot Water Music songs]. Even if you don't believe in downloading whole CDs, if you would have kept your eyes open you would have already downloaded half of this CD legally. Maybe it's just me, but I think that's lame.

Another lame thing about this comp is the lack of unreleased material. Only three bands contributed new, unreleased material - Death By Stereo, Hot Water Music, and Guttermouth. Not exactly Epitaph's "A List." The Guttermouth song is trite and sophomoric. The Hot Water Music song has *way* too many "woah"s in it and is now my least favorite HWM song ever. Death By Stereo, a band that I never really liked before, doesn't do much to change my mind here with this new song. All in all, the unreleased material was a big dud.

As for the previously released material [that's not already available for download somewhere], the [International] Noise Conspiracy's "Up For Sale" is by far the best track, followed closely by Beatsteaks' "God Knows." Bad Religion and Pulley both give good rockers off their last albums, and I actually like the Deviates song [okay, more like I can tolerate it].

For a label that has been doing so much growing artistically in the past year, this sampler reeks of stagnancy and complacency. A lot of these releases that the songs are from came out over a year ago. Where's the new blood of the label? The CD's cause isn't helped much considering the lack of good unreleased material on here. I honestly can't recommend this to anyone, really. There's a glut of label samplers/compilations coming out lately, and they're all about the same price. Pick up one other than this one, unless you're a diehard Epi-fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd or 3rd best punk o rama but good none the less, July 23, 2002

Let's put it this way: by most standards this is a great cd, but for long time Epitaph fans like me it's just solid. It far and away blew punk o rama 6 out of the water but did not really measure up to punk 5 or even punk 4 in some ways. This compilation begins with a very good song by Millencolin and then follows up with a stellar hook coming from Hot Water Music. But the next track is really sub-par compared to T(I)NC'S punk 5 song which is one of the best on any punk o rama cd. Track 4 is Pennywise's song "The World". Probably the best song I've heard from them and that's saying something because I love pennywise. It's the second best song on the cd. The next track is by the new Division of Laura Lee. It's pretty good for a new band and compared to the wretched other new band on here: 1208. What can I say about NOFX's cover of Olympia? It's better than the original and positively the best song on this cd. This doesn't rule the same for Rancid's cover of NOFX'S Bob. It's a good song though. Randy has a great song in track 7. Pulley is average. Bouncing Souls and Beatsteaks go great back to back on any cd. Bad Religion, who I'm not really in to, has an awesome song. Deviates are fair. THIS WAS NOT THE BEST DKM SONG TO PUT ON THE CD. Come on! Sing Loud Sing Proud is one of my favorite cd's and this is a good song but what about Finn Maccool, Which side are you on?, Rocky Road to Dublin, or even For Boston? And they did this before on punk 6 with The Gauntlet which [was bad]. DBS is no good but Agnostic Front is great (I suggest buying dead yuppies)The new 98 mute song is good and Guttermouth is misrepresented by ska but still a good song as usual. Just listen to these tracks: 1,2,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,13,14,16,18,19. Keep in mind a lot of these are only fair to good. On punk 4 or 5 you will find 20 songs that will keep you hooked. Buy it if you are a punk fan, but you won't be dazzled.

4.0 out of 5 stars [Instert Catchy Phrase Here], July 9, 2002
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 7 (Audio CD)
The moment I saw the track listing my heart sank. I was anxious with hope that there would be an unreleased Pennywise song on here. There isn't. I am sure that they have songs that are finished that could of been put on this disk. However they didn't do it. Agnostic Front wasn't unreleased either. However, I am happy to see that for the first time Epitaph HASN'T misrepresented them and showed everyone that how hardcore Agnostic Front really is. A new 98 mute song off of "After the Fall" is on here. However, you can get the MP3 on the Epitaph si+e so who cares? It's nice to see that the cool new band 1206 is on here. Pulley and Millencolin are cool. The NOFX and Rancid songs are both from "Split Series 3" I'm sure a lot of other people will be disappointed with that. The Bad Religion song is off of the album that just about every Epitaph fan has as well: "Process of Belief". However, you know what isn't on here? Ten Foot Pole and Dwarves. This is because Epitaph stupidly dropped them from the roster! Epitaph really should include overlooked lesser known bands that ARE on the roster: Vision, Dag Nasty, 59 Times the Pain etc. Because they have some pretty cool ones they choose not to include.

Ok, now I'll get to the point. If you are new to punk or new to Epitaph (g0d forbid) then by all means buy this after you have volume 4 and 5. If you aren't new you may want to think about whether buying this is really worth it. The lack of unreleased and songs is disappointing. Despite the fact, I am sure any die hard Epitaph fan (like me) will buy the CD for the che@p pr:ice and jam on to the current Epitaph roster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epitaph Records Rocks, March 25, 2010

This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 7 (Audio CD)
This Compilation Is A Really Great Cd For Those Who Like &/Or Follow Epitaph Records & Their Artists. The CD Includes Such Killer Tracks By Dropkick Murphy's, Rancid, Agnostic Front, Hot Water Music, Pennywise & Of Course Epitaph's Founder's Bad Religion. As With All The Punk O Rama Cd's, It Helps A Great Deal When The Compliation Is Put Together By Punk Fans In A Punk Band And Not By Some Suit Who Is Just Trying To Make Money. Which Brings Me To My Next Point, All These Cd's Are Very Reasonably Priced. Usually Between $4.00-$7.00.
The Flow Of This Cd Is A Little Better Than Volume 6. The Songs Are Shorter (Which Is Great), But The Over All Feel Is Tighter. There Are A Couple Weak Link Tracks. But It Doesn't Effect The CD As A Whole. It's Truly Worth Adding To Your Collection. Some Of My Personal Faves Are Hot Water Music's Wayfarer, Rancid's Cover Of A Nofx Song, Pennywise's The World, Agnostic Front & Guttermouth Have Really Cool Tracks As Well, The International Noise Conspiracy's Up For Sale Is Also A Nice Tune. But Don't Take My Word For It. Check It Out For Self.

hey there everyone! It's time to hear from someone else you don't know and shouldn't trust!
This Cd is great for the what, [$]? If you're too cheap to buy a ...Cd with at least ten pretty good songs on it, then you shouldn't even be reading this. You should be listening to the radio, cuz that's the only thing cheap enough for you. Hot water Music is awesome, and the covers of Olympia and Bob are awesome too. A couple songs leave something to be desired, but at least they aren't all by the same band. Anyway, buy this cd if you are remotely interested, becuase it is great. Probably not as great as the previous Punk-o-rama's, but hey, give 'em some credit. they put together a good compilation without breaking any copywrite laws, as is usually necesary for a good compilation.
