5.0 out of 5 stars A very good cd but nort what most punk fans would expect
More like mixed music-o-rama. This is a great cd but for a true punk fan it may be something to avoid. I love the indie rock, rap and "emo" on this. Honestly i don't think there is any emo on this cd. Its more like rock. Emo is trash like yellow card but this cd dosn't have any thing like that on it. The dvd is just a bounus, and a good one at that. All and all...

It has an interesting mix of music, but it doesn't fit together too well. The upsides to this compilation are as follows: one, the Dropkick Murphys song, and two, it's inexpensive. However, it's even less expensive to just forget about buying this CD at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars .....and worse again., June 16, 2004

I don't understand why this is called Punk-O-Rama. There are a couple of punk bands on there, and good ones, Bad Religion, Dropkick's, Bouncing Souls, Pennywise, Pulley, Randy etc. Then the rest of them are slow emo rubbish, and worst of all, there is about 3 rap songs. I would understand if it was just another compilation, but it is called PUNK-o-rama, and therefore, should be punk, and punk only. You buy the Punk-O-Rama series and expect to listen to old, new and upcoming punk bands, like the earlier Punk-O-Rama CD's. If I wanted to listen to rap I would start looking at Eminem or Snoop Dogg CD's. 1 star anyway for the 5 or 6 good songs on there, by the above bands I mentioned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Punk at a broader view, June 26, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 9 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
Some of the reviews of this comp seem to be narrow minded. If you've ever listened to the other punk o ramas you'd see that this cd follows the trend though Epitaph seems to be broadening its selection slightly. This cd has most of the regulars and adds a few newbies to punkorama like Atmosphere, Eyedea, and Error. Hiphop artists like Sage Francis and Atmosphere have been traversing into the punk scene lately and it makes a lot of sense to include them in the punkoramas. All in all, this cd was pieced together very well and has a ton of good songs. Well worth it for about $5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good!!!!!!, May 21, 2005
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 9 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
This was the first Punk-O-Rama CD that I ever got. The punk, rock , and even underground rap is great! People say that Slayer should be on one of the CD's, one problem, Slayer IS NOT punk they are metal!!!!!!! The DVD is even cooler then the CD, best video: Trying To Find A Balance by Atmosphere. People say that Atmosphere is rap, ture but not true, it's more underground rap, there's a difference. I would go out and buy every Punk-O-Rama CD out there!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars a great variety of music, August 9, 2004
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 9 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
This is the first Punk-o-rama cd i purchased. i thought it was very good, but if you like only true punk rock this cd will dissapoint you. there are only a few punk songs and the rest are emo, punkpop and indy and even some rockability and hiphop. like most people here i didnt exactly understand why hiphop was on a punk complication. but anyway, i loved this cd and many of the songs on here are excellent. if you are like me and love alternative rock then punk o rama is for you. and for the low price it is well worth it. best song: ride the wings of pestilence by from first to last

5.0 out of 5 stars Epitaph does it again!, June 22, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 9 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
This cd might not be the best out of the punk o rama series but for under $10, it is an awesome cd with some of the older bands from epitaph and some of the new and upcoming bands from epitaph. Awesome cd and for under $10 its worth it, plus it comes with a very cool bonus dvd!

The latest compilation from Epitaph Records isn't exactly punk, but for $10 it really is a truckload of music. With offerings from over 20 bands and a bonus DVD, It showcases many of the Emo, Hip-Hop, Punk and Indy bands that have signed, and shows the newer directions Epitaph has been branching into. Volume nine includes tracks from mainstays such as the Dropkick Murphys, Rancid, Bad Religion, and Pennywise to newer groups like The Nekromanix, The Horror Pops, and The Matches. 2.0 out of 5 stars Getting progressively worse, June 9, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Punk-O-Rama 9 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
The first Punk-O-Rama was great. Great bands and great music. But, they have gotten progressively worse. Obviously Bad Religion, Pennywise, and The Dropkick Murphys are great. But, there are a lot of marginal bands on this disc. Why is Eyedea an Epitaph artist? I like his music and his battles, but not a PUNK compilation. I would listen to the entire album on the first 3 or 4 in this series. Now, I find myself skipping just about every other song. I have not checked out the dvd, but this is a great addition. And, for the price, the 12 or so songs I enjoyed was worth it. But, overall, it was a big disappointment.
