4.0 out of 5 stars a good compilation..., February 4, 2005
This review is from: Punk Vs Emo (Audio CD)
...i think the whole punk vs emo thing is so stupid. They obviously can't differenciate between the two becuase there are tracks on each cd that sound similar! but thats not the point...
this is a great cd that has a wide range of bands, some well known, some not so well known. Each cd has a really good amount of bands, its really great.
The Emo side has loads of bands that i'd readily reccomend such as mae, rufio, fall out boy, th early november, over it, keepsake and bayside- bands that are mellow but aren't acoustic. easy listening.
The Punk side i suppose is somewhat faster, though a "true punk" (is there such a thing?) would probably only appreciate the casulties, as many of the bands are [what i'd call] pop-punk. Don't Look down, the Queers, Madcap, Straight outta junoir high, pulley, punchline and divit are some of the ones i like. This cd is made up of mostly up-beat melodic songs that make you dance and smile.
I'd really reccomend this cd for someone who i) has loads of cd's and is really hard to buy for as it has a great variety of bands across the emo-punk genre or ii) for someone who just wants a good cd to listen to without having to skip songs or change the cd each time it finishes.
