Este disco marca el regreso de Ana Torroja a los escenarios, después de serios problemas con su voz ella decidió regresar para entregarnos esta obra monumental de la música. Puntos cardinales es simplemente un disco genial, con la chispa que caracteriza a Torroja. Las canciones están muy bien orquestadas y las letras son verdaderas obras de arte.

This CD marks Ana Torroja's return to the scenarios, after serious problems with her voice she decided to return to surrender this monumental work of the music. "Puntos Cardinales" is simply a brilliant CD, with the spark that characterizes to Torroja. The songs are very well orchestrated and the lyrics are true works of art.

Questo CD marca il ritorno di Ana Torroja agli scenari, dopo problemi seri con la sua voce lei decise di ritornare per cedere a questo lavoro monumentale della musica. " Puntos Cardinales " è semplicemente un CD brillante, con la scintilla che caratterizza a Torroja. Le canzoni sono molto bene orchestrate e la lirica è i veri lavori dell'arte.

Ce CD marque le retour d'Ana Torroja aux scénarios, après problèmes sérieux avec sa voix elle a décidé de revenir pour renoncer à ce travail monumental de la musique. " Puntos Cardinales " est un CD brillant, avec l'étincelle qui caractérise à Torroja, simplement. Les chansons sont très bien orchestrées et les paroles sont de vraies oeuvres d'art.

The first time I heard Ana Torroja's voice was when she was still a member of the Spanish pop group, Mecano. I fell in love with the sound and ended up buying the CD <Ana José Nacho>. However, when I was looking for other CD's, I found out that the group had split up. On a trip to Spain I heard the music of Ana alone and was impressed. As a solo singer, she has maintained her trademark crystal-clear voice, insightful lyrics, and pleasant melodies. I especially liked <A Contratiempo,> <Te He Querido Tanto,> and <Deja Que Llueva.>

Ana siempre ha tenido una voz excepcional, y ahora en solitario nos demuestra su natural soltura en el microfono y como compositora de canciones. Para mi que creci con su voz y las canciones de Mecano, me sigue impresionando oirla cantantando melodias sensuales y llenas de pasion. "Puntos Cardinales" la cancion que le da nombre a este album, es genial. Una de esas canciones que podemos cantarle al oido a nuestra pareja. Este CD es genial para una tarde de lluvia pasandosela en casa sumido en la melancolia de un amor que se fue, al escuchar "Te he querido tanto," o en los brazos de una amor actual. Gracias, Ana por mantenernos enganchados a tu vuz. Gracias Rafa, por darme este CD como regalo...

I have follow Ana throught her beginnings as a member of the Spanish pop band Mecano and became very intrigue by her angel like voice and absolutely progressive themes in her earlier years with the band. I very much anticipated a new release from Mecano but when I heard the band had split up assumed that her career was over. I was very delighted to hear she had went on as a solo and knew that her new CD would probably become a new classic in my CD collection. I found every song in this release as pleasing as all her former recordings.

though ana torroja's name is well-known throughout the spanish-speaking world, she may be a new face to many north americans. as part of the spain's supergroup, mecano, torroja has--along with bandmates josé and nacho--been producing some of spain's most popular music for over a decade. on her first solo album, torroja maintains the mecano tradition of songs that administer equally to the mind and soul. with a voice that is more like a cool breeze than a roaring fire (compared with the flamenco vocalists for which her country is renowned), torroja's vocals harken more to ana belen than to chavela vargas. the result is a refreshing interpretation of the spanish experience. fans of bette midler will be pleased by the inclusion of a spanish version of "bottomless" from the album _bette of roses_.

This is a great work by Ana Torroja - who has really matured since her 80's work with Mecano. It has a combination of beats and moods from softer emotional ballads to upbeat, rhytmic songs like "Como Tu." My personal favorite - "Flor Carnivora" - is an interesting message set over a haunting, memorable score. This is top-notch stuff - especially for Ana Torroja fans. Whether you speak Spanish or not, I recommend this CD.

I was shock by Ana Torroja's solo debut...beautifull voice, nice scent so sweet...and poetry like lyrics...right,"Puntos Cardinales" is an amazing record..." COMO SUEÑAN LAS SIRENAS" "A CONTRATIEMPO" "FLOR CARNIVORA" "TE HE QUERIDO TANTO" "DEJA QUE LLUEVA" and "COMO TU" are te best songs of this cd. Buy it.

The voice of Mecano, Ana Torroja, has proved that she has one great ability: She can sing everything, and it sounds impressive. She puts so much feeling in every song. My favorite songs are "Como suenan las sirenas" (How the sirenes dream), "Deja que llueva" (Let it rain) and "A contratiempo" (The opposite).

Una buena obra de una mujer madura y una cantadora excelente.
