I highly recommend the PupLight to anyone who walks a dog at night. I like to walk at night with my three black dogs. Before I got the lights, people would zoom past me at ten miles an hour over the speed limit, and I would pull my dogs way, way off the road any time I heard a car approaching. After I put the lights on them, I was amazed at how cars slowed down and gave us room. Cars now drive the speed limit or slower when they go by us. Many pedestrians have commented on how great the lights are. Without the lights, people used to think my three large dogs might be dangerous somehow. (They are as gentle as kittens.) With the lights, people find my dogs approachable and friendly. Before the lights, no one would ever stop to let us cross at the crosswalks, but with the lights, people stop and happily wave us across.

Also, these lights help to see where we are going. I carry a flashlight anyway, but most of the time I don't need it since the dogs are lighting our path. The batteries last a long time. We have used them in the rain with no trouble. They are easy to get on and off, and they are adjustable to all sizes of dogs. They are just plain fun to use. I find that I am walking the dogs more often and farther since we got these lights. I can't recommend this product enough, and I wish I had gotten them many years ago.

One note of caution: do not leave them on your dogs when you are not with them. My two youngest dogs had them on while I had to run back in the house for a few minutes. They wrestled, as they often do, and one of the lights got pried apart by a canine. I couldn't find one of the batteries and thought the youngest might have eaten it. Fortunately, I found the missing battery after a long and thorough search. Don't leave your dogs alone with anything that contains battries, including the TV remote.

I bought this for my golden retriever so I wouldn't have to carry a flashlight when we walk at night. It definitely is bright enough to light a small path ahead of us, but a flashlight does go farther. I don't think that's much of a drawback, just wanted to be sure folks know that you can only see a short distance ahead with this light. The collar that accompanies it is very lightweight and stretches so you can just slide it over your dog's head. My dog doesn't even notice that he's wearing it, but he's a 70-pound dog. I would recommend this product.
