4.0 out of 5 stars Meet VINCENT, Puppet Star of Offbeat Short Films, August 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Puppets & Demons [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This compilation is a mixed bag, but well worth the viewing to encounter Vincent, an odd but "lovable" puppet who's like Ernie and Cookie Monster combined. Except Vincent loves Twinkies. He likes to sing and he has a mischievous streak in him. There are other short films that are pretty funny, one about an "intergalactic parasite terminator", kinda like MEN IN BLACK done in 1960's Japanese cinema style. In general, quite amusing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, August 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Puppets & Demons [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a true original. Some of the films are rough, young-filmmaker material, but still quite inventive. But this video is worth purchasing based on the 3 "Vincent" pieces alone! Vincent is a singing puppet who loves Twinkies and has a way with pasta. There's nothing quite like him -- he's both lovably childish and unsettlingly bizarre, and definitely funnier/weirder than anything you've ever seen on the muppets. Let's hope Patrick McGuinn makes more "Vincent" films, because he is definitely on to something, there! Vincent could be a huge star!
