I want to highly recommend Puppy Love. It is the best story I've ever read in the BDSM- universe.
Petey is a 19 year old small, shy boy who has a crush on Matt. One day Petey is attacked and Matt comes to his help. A little later they meet again: Matt is walking his new little dog. When Petey crouches down in front of Matt to pet it his world begins to shift. He feels great kneeling in front of Matt, that's what feels right for him. Matt picks up on this feeling and soon they are in a relationship. Petey becomes Matt's "Pup".

It is very different from any other Dom/sub story that I've read because Petey neither is a sub from one day to another and nor is this a - let's get into a scene and I'll spank you - story. It is not about equals who willingly decide that they live a Dom/sub life with a contract and a safe word. This is the story about a young man who realizes that he is submissive and the only way to happiness is to serve his master, obey and do whatsoever he is told to do. He wonders a lot what makes him crave serving Matt and even longing for being "owned" by him. He questions if it can be right to live this lifestyle. It scares him, especially as he is very insecure about Matt's feelings for him, if this can work out, if he can endure to obey even when it breaks his heart.

The story is told in first person. Some people aren't very fond of that, but for this story it is perfect. Jeff Erno uses this POV to give us a sometimes gut wrenching inside of Petey, his hopes, his fears, his struggle to accept his personality and his longing for Matt.

And of course - there is Matt. Petey's Master and Owner, the love of his life, the one who can take him to pure bliss or can turn his life upside down and make it a living hell.

When I first came across this book, "Puppy Love," I had no idea what I was in for. I like to read stories that don't follow the "norm" of what people say I should be reading. I like to test the boundaries and explore. Wow, I was glad when my eyes caught this book. It's a story about 19 yr. old Petey Drinkel and his coming to terms with his sexuality while also trying to understand his inner needs to submit to others in his life. He meets the love of his young life, Matt Porter, who not only takes the role to protect the smaller boy from bullies but also teaches him, as well as himself, what the power of love is, what the power of a D/S relationship is about and how to be comfy in his own skin.

This is not your typical D/S book by any means, it does not come with chains, gags, leather and the like. To me it's as if the reader learns what the D/S dynamic is through Petey. He explains in detail his feelings, why he feels he is so submissive, and how he sees his "doms" role to him.

Petey has a very energetic outgoing personality among his friends, you can just feel the love in that boy. However, around outsiders, he's quiet, shy and so innocent you just want to be with him to keep others from hurting him. You'll be sure to cry with him, laugh with him and want to hug him as he discovers who he is and what it is to answer his true calling to be a submissive in a gay relationship to a very hot Matt, his master.

There's a lot of emotion here, and at times I found myself angry with the author for putting that boy in the situations he did, but it's a story, and without those scenes, there would be no story. Or, there wouldn't be a story as wonderful as this one...I wish it didn't end. I want more of PL and Petey and Matt....

Wow. This was like watching two twelve year olds trying to play adults but constantly falling into whining and hissy fits. Granted the slave/servitude kink in this D/s relationship doesn't trip my trigger easily, but I can appreciate it, when both partners are getting what they want out of the relationship, but not when you have children playing at it, one spoiled and one with no self-esteem.

On top of that there are two glaring thing that do not sit well with me.

1) Peter never truly offers his submission to Matt. He isn't confident enough or aware enough of the dynamics to submit properly. Pete feels grateful and ecstatic that someone as `chill' as Matt even looks twice at a nerd like him and Matt runs with that sense of worthlessness Pete has inside him. Throughout, Pete feels inferior and not worth having any attention directed his way and is desperate to `do anything' to keep Matt. He is no where near mentally ready for this level of relationship, considering he hasn't even been kissed, (at least no relationship like this with an inexperienced cruel Dom) and that leads me to irritation number two.

2) Matt is a ignorant, careless, doesn't keep his word and can't be bothered to do any research. My regard for Matt never went above dislike. He claims he'll `never hurt Petey' yet does just that. First mentally, by not caring or respecting Pete enough to stop sleeping around when he knows Pete is hurt and unhappy with it (which flies in the face of the Dom's duty) and second, with the chastity belt he uses that makes Peter bleed. How is that not hurting Pete? Then the cherry on top is how Matt turns it all back on Pete as being his fault.
