5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Helpful
3 months ago I adopted a 1yr old beagle from a shelter. Unfortunately she was not potty trained. It was a nightmare and I was having more trouble than usual because she was already 1yr old. After watching this video and taking the time to follow each of the steps shown, it took me only a solid 2 weeks of training to stop the accidents in the house. I highly recommend this...

1.0 out of 5 stars This DVD is a joke and a rip-off
This is by far the worst material I have seen on dog training. The chapters are short and most of them don't even show demonstrations of the techniques being described. You simply hear the voice-over of the narrator who sounds like she's reading from a script. Most of the time, what the narrator is saying does not correspond with the technique being demonstrated on the...

This is by far the worst material I have seen on dog training. The chapters are short and most of them don't even show demonstrations of the techniques being described. You simply hear the voice-over of the narrator who sounds like she's reading from a script. Most of the time, what the narrator is saying does not correspond with the technique being demonstrated on the screen. Aby value to be gotten out of this series is extremely basic and rudimentary and certainly not worth the price. If you are looking for a DVD that demonstrates complete positive training, a better choice is:

2.0 out of 5 stars Like an instructional DVD, but so much shorter!, August 6, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: PuppySmarts Lessons for a Lifetime (DVD)
While the material covered in this DVD is helpful and reasonably well-presented, it is so short that I am embarassed to have paid the price I did for it. The producer could easily have included material on other training topics most new puppy owners need. There would still have been plenty of time to relax and absorb the lessons. The Humane Society could have done better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced, June 2, 2003

Very good lessons although there is very little return for the price charged. A poor return on investment as the totaltraining content time is about 25 minutes. There should have been a lot more content for money such as leash/walking training or doing tricks training. You will be amazed at how short this DVD actually is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Puppy or Dog - Excellent training help!, May 4, 2006

As a veterinarian who has a special interest in behavior, I highly recommend Linca White's DVDs. Yes, this DVD is short and concise but that's what most people need and want. They want a quick easy way to resolve a difficult problem and Linda White provides it. Watching the demonstrations clears up any confusion over a technique. The DVD targets the most difficult of problems that I get asked about over and over. If only all my clients would watch it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Training video, February 12, 2004

I'm so glad this was so effective and yes...concise. It was so easy to train our puupy, so easy my 10 year old daughter did it. In our busy schedule with work and her school, it only took us 10 minutes a day, just like they say! Great product, great video. Thanks Puppy Smarts!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for first time dog owners, June 8, 2005
This review is from: PuppySmarts Lessons for a Lifetime (DVD)
As someone who works with animals daily in a vet's office, I highly recommend this DVD to our clients. It is short, concise, and easy to understand. Almost every day I see dogs that simply need a few minutes of training every day to become model pets. Most people are so busy that something short and easy like this is the only way they are going to get started training their dog.

This DVD is not for all people. If you want to go beyond the basics, you should get something else, but this one is an excellent way to get started.

5.0 out of 5 stars By far the best and easiest training method yet., September 19, 2004

I recently purchased this DVD to help train our new pomeranian puppy. Linda's easy training method helped quickly in the training of our little bundle of energy. Her training methods were especially effective on potty and crate training as well as biting. I have even used her ideas with my older dog and am getting great results.

Got the single Potty training DVD first at retail.
It worked with such success I've got to get the full 5-topic DVD. I thought I had the puppy from hell until this DVD showed ME how simple it is to get a dog to understand what you want it to do. Found DVD format great for quick review. It's really more about traing us humans than the dogs I've decided!

This DVD is an excellent guide for training your puppy. It is seperated into 5 short and easy segments that are easy to follow; potty and crate training, obedience, chewing, jumping and biting. The instructor shows and tells you exactly how to do each and every step in training your puppy.
