This Pur Minerals Starter Kit is a great introduction to this brand. I am absolutely in love with the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup (included in the kit). It's so much better than the Bare Escentuals makeup, which I had been using for years. The 4-in-1 provides great coverage, as it is a foundation, concealer, and spf 15 pressed powder all in one. With Bare Escentuals, I was having to buy the mineral veil, foundation and concealer all separately, and I still felt like my dark circles and blemishes were not covered well. Pur Minerals is a wonderful makeup, very lightweight, and even the brush is soft on my skin! I highly recommend it.

Having tried several mineral brands over the last 10 years, I gave Pur Minerals' 4-in-1 makeup a try. I need good coverage due to acne scars, age spots and unevenness. The challenge is finding a makeup that will do the job without ending up looking like a stage performer.
The 4-in-1 makeup's finish is average and so is the coverage. It compares with Philosophy and Youngblood versions in that they are on the chalky side but not as much as L'Oreal's (which is probably the worst of the brands I've tried). For my purposes, a bit more bismuth oxychloride would probably do the trick.
The chisel brush is outstanding for application. Alone, it would rate 5 stars.
The Pink Marble Powder's use is a mystery to me. Not saturated enough to use as a blush, it's claimed to contain antioxidants. On medium dark skin it's practically invisible.
The Mineral Glow seems to work well, but with medium dark skin I'm not necessarily interested in a tanned look. It can be used as a blush or contour since it's quite natural looking.
This starter kit was a good opportunity to try several of this company's products. The perfect mineral makeup for me would have excellent coverage, a natural finish and include beneficial additives (sunscreen, antioxidants, etc.) all in one product. These products, as a whole, are close but not quite there.

This is by far my favorite mineral makeup. It covers better and stays on longer than my Bare Essenctuals Bare Minerals makeup. I still need to use a concealer stick for dark spots and my serious under eye circles, but that's true with any foundation I've ever tried, including liquid types.
Pur minerals doesn't irritate or cause break outs on my sensitive acne prone skin, plus the coverage looks natural and I don't have to worry about the dreaded dark face/whiter neck problem I usually have with liquid foundations.
The kit I got, Medium Blush, is perfect for my fair skin. (If you are super super fair with warm undertones, this might be a bit too dark. This is the lightest warm undertone shade in Pur Minerals, and I wish they made one a tad lighter. For comparison, I wear Fairly Light in Bare Minerals.)
I love the Marble powder, because it's such a nice natural blush shade. The Mineral Glow is good too, adding just a hint of healthy color and shimmer without making you look orange or like a Twilight vampire.:)The Chisel brush itself would be worth the price of the kit. I've never used this type of brush before, but it gives fabulous coverage. I will definitely be repurchasing in the future.

I have to be honest. I bought in to all the hype of mineral make-ups. My sister uses the bare essentials and her skin looked flawless and she has uneven tones like I do. I didn't want to pay the price or join the club so I tried Pur MInerals. I still had to use a "cover-up" under my eyes and blemishes and had to put pur minerals on rather heavy to get the "flawless" look. But then it looked too powdery. I started using my regular cover-girl foundation and powder again as I felt it covered better and less heavy. Just a note, my sister said she still uses a "Cover up stick" when using bare essentials too, but she looked beautiful in it.

I tried both bare essentials and Pur. I did not like bare as I thought the coverage was too light and looked chaulky as you added more. With pur it does not break me out and it looks very natural. I love the pink "blush" and the bronzer mineral glow. It can leave a chaulky feeling so I sprintz the revitiling mist spray and tab with my brush and it give me a dewy very natural complexion. The mist is comparable to Mac's fix+ spray. I enjoy this product and am looking at their skincare line next. This is a great product for women who break out easiliy.

BETTER than Bare Minerals for Oily Skin & Better Color Match.
Just got Pur today at Ulta & was hoping for results no other organic/mineral makeup was giving my oily skin & I'm so happy because Pur nailed it! I have tried BM over & over hoping colors matched better than previous ones or that the matte makeup would look better than original, but BM makeup always looked cakey, shiny, the colors were crazy in real light, & it basically slid off my face. HATED IT. Wanted to love it, so I kept retrying it, but kept rehating it. Then finally today I tried Pur & it is EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be!
1. The colors are much truer matches, more universal, blend better, & when finished applying, your face looks fresh & matte, as if you have no makeup on at all. BM never went on like that. It was always VERY shiney, cakey, and the colors did not blend easily or well & they were very bright.
2. The colors in the Pur kits seem universal for all skin tones. The Mineral Glow is a true brownish, sunkissed glow color. Not orange. The Universal Marble Powder patted on the apples of your cheeks is a true soft pinkish/red that makes you look like you just walked in from being out in the sun.
3. The brush applies this powder like a dream.
4. The compact makes Pur SO much more portable & a lot less messy than BM.
I don't think there's any comparison between Pur & BM. Especially not in their starter kits! PUR WINS HANDS DOWN!

I really recommend this kit. It made my skin feel so nice and lightweight and maybe it's just a coincidence but I stopped breaking out as much. The only thing that I didn't like was that it left a glittery look on my face but it wasn't really noticable unless you looked close up but I still recommend it!! It is a good kit to start off with to make sure you like it.

I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL BRANDS OF MINERAL MAKE-UP, BUT WAS NEVER REALLY IMPRESSED, EVEN WITH THE TOP BRANDS. I AM 61, WITH FINE LINES, BUT NO DEEP WRINKLES. ALL THE OTHER BRANDS I HAVE TRIED MADE MY MODERATELY DRY SKIN LOOK AND FEEL DRIER, AND MORE WRINKLED!! I LIKE THAT IT IS A "SOLID", INSTEAD OF A "LOOSE" MINERAL POWDER, (THERE'S NO WASTE AND NOT MESSY LIKE THE LOOSE TYPES). THE OTHERS I'VE TRIED MADE MY SKIN LOOK TOO DRY AND MY FINE LINES WERE MORE PRONOUNCED. PUR MINERALS GOES ON EVENLY, DOESN'T MAKE ME LOOK DRIED UP, AND DOES NOT SETTLE IN THE FINE LINES. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS LINE. THANK YOU, PUR MINERALS!

I have been on the search for a new makeup and have been disappointed in so many, so I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I like the Pur Minerals. I sets nicely and I don't feel "made up". I like that there are no chemicals in it as I have pretty sensitive skin. This is not a heavy makeup so if you're looking for max coverage this is not for you. I love the mineral glow too. It gives me the perfect glow without looking fake. I will be buying this again.

I've been searching for make-up, and pressed powder that would work well with my skin, which is both oily as well as sensitive. Most make-up proves hazardous to my skin, making me break out, or will clog my pores despite being non-comedogenic. The truth is, my skin is difficult to deal with - plain and simple. HOWEVER, Pur Minerals proved to be that one brand of make-up that has saved my life. Not only is the coverage on the pressed foundation powder great, the finished look is close to being flawless. When the foundation (Pressed Make-up Powder), bronzer (Tan Mineral Glow) and blush (Universal Marble Powder) all three provided in the kit, are used together the result is absolutely luminous. The make up stays on for HOURS, literally. And although my skin is oily, the pressed powder keeps it in check, for the most part, WITHOUT EVER LOOKING CAKED ON! The brush is soft, and provides excellent application - and I love that it provides SPF-15 coverage as well
I would recommend this kit to ANYONE. Especially if you're looking for good coverage without compromising the integrity and health of your skin.
