Bought 3 for my family. Used them everyday for 2 months.
Pro: Built like a tank. My kid dropped it more than once on asphalt, concrete, etc. Just a chip in paint; no dents at all. All stainless steel (including the cap) is great. Life-time warranty.
Con: Had a very strong metallic smell. Made the water almost undrinkable at first, but fades with use. I put a lemon slice in the water to mask the smell. Soaking it in some vinegar water overnight removes some of the metallic scents. Baking soda diluted in water helps too. Hoping the smell will disappear soon... Remember, I have 3 bottles, so the smell problem wasn't a fluke. All three are like that.
Additional Note: One of the three caps has some water in it now. The seal must have been compromised. I wouldn't buy this bottle if you are sensitive to metallic smell that fades over time, but could possibly linger indefinitely.
2nd Addition: I've used the bottles for 2 years now. And after 2 years, the metallic smell is gone from the bottle itself, but still comes back whenever the cap is twisted off the bottle. The rubbing of metal against metal is causing this and I suspect that it will never disappear due to the design of the bottle and the cap. So the water never touches any plastic (which was the selling point). That is true. But the solution is also the cause of the perpetual problem: the smell of metal that will always be there. I alone am using all three bottles now because my kids refused to use them after a few weeks of the initial purchase. They couldn't tolerate the metallic smell. Me: I'm tolerating it.
I did buy my kids the Thermos Hydration Insulated Bottles to replace the Pura. They love the Thermos. Keeps the water cold for a long time without any condensation on the outside of the bottle, and most importantly, without the smell of metal! They especially love the flip top. In all honesty, the Thermos is the best choice.
