This is a great product if your child is learning to swim, older children 5-7 age.
Where the parents are still watching them ,but it gives them alittle more freedom to learn the strokes, needed for swimming lessons. It also can grow with your child as they learn to swim, the pads come off as needed.I have seen these also used in the swim classes, that use them. Its a confidence bilder for the child.

These are the swim devices used at my local YMCA during swim instruction. It allows for the child to use their arms and legs to swim while providing them enough flotation to stay above water. The foam pads can be removed as the child requires less and less assistance. Great product for the child who is not quite swimming independently, but too big for tubes and life vests.

Both of my children (ages 6 and 3 1/2) use these same floats in their swim classes at our local YMCA. I absolutely loved them! I was so glad to finally find them online at Amazon.com. I bought 2 for use at our local pool and our trip to Florida.

My daughters' swim teacher recommended these to us. She has several for her classes. I just love how it forces the child to use their appendages to swim, and then you can take one pad off at a time as the child gets stronger/ more skilled. I've used them with 3 of my girls, and my oldest is swimming all on her own!

This is a great product! I would recommend this product.
I use the float in conjunction with swimies. The kids are doing so well they can swim around unlike the life jackets that they had before. The only draw back to this product is that the belt tends to ride up. Either you make is so tight they can't breath and it doesn't ride up or you don't make it as tight and it ends up under their arms.

I purchased 7 of these for my kids last summer (2007). They worked great! They buckle on and off easily and are perfect for keeping the kids afloat while learning to swim. You can easily take out one or more layers of foam as the child becomes a better swimmer. These are the exact same type of back float that the YMCA uses in their swim classes, which is why I bought them. You won't be disappointed.

This Back-Float frees the child's arms so he/she is able to practice swimming while safe. The 3 yr old child wearing it weighs 40+ lbs., and we were surprised to learn how well this device "holds her up" in the water. Great product!

Place the float low in the small of the child's back which will float them more horizontally. This position will encourage your child to kick and stroke, increasing their ability to swim independently.
Products like water wings and float jackets will certainly float your child, but will hinder their ability to actively swim. |
