Songbook of a great Bossa Nova Composer, famous in Brazil, January 18, 2007
Carlos Lyra in now in his 70s and he was one of those great composers of Bossa Nova music in Brazil. Curiously he got no foreign recognition.
Though he currently composes just a few songs now and then he is still active as a singer though this is not precisely his best art.
His best songs were sung by the great Brazilian performers like Elis Regina, Sylvia Telles, Os Cariocas, and Leny Andrade in memorable renditions.
Fortunately part of this songbook shows some of his songs as sung by other crooners and songbirds in beautiful renditions. Features Caetano Veloso singing Lyra's 'Coisa Mais Linda', pretty song, great performance.
