Wonderful collection of Christmas related pieces. The performances are top flight, all of them - quite unusual to get this many together. Arrangements are done with taste and restraint.
Play as quiet background on the holiday - or it listen to without distraction, it is that strong.
Way beyond the usual 'collection' albums. In my own library I ranked it 5 stars.

Stunning, December 12, 2009

These songs are glorious! I discovered them on an online radio station, so I haven't actually bought the CD, but I have heard many of the songs and I want to buy them. The songs are beautiful and uplifting. My favorite is Messiah: Hallelujah. The choir's voices are awesome. Other songs are instrumental. Every time a song from this album comes on the station it makes me stop what I'm doing and just listen. I highly recommend this for people who like classical music, or even people who think they don't like classical music, because I can't imagine anyone not being affected by the almost heavenly performances.
