I really liked this movie. Katrina Elam is an extremely talented singer, and I think the movie has a good message: never tell a lie, always be fair, and never break a promise. I've heard complaints about the acting, but I have seen WAY worse acting on the Disney channel that gets praised, so it's a personal call on the quality of the acting. I also liked the inclusion of special needs children, as they are very near and dear to my heart. I bought the soundtrack and also have ordered the DVD (originally just rented it). I thought it was a great movie, and you won't hear a more talented singer than Katrina Elam anywhere.

Pure Country 2?! Someone should be made to lick the floor for even remotely relating this to the original Pure Country. It has nothing to do with the original movie.

Let me tell you what this movie really is. It appears a movie company was desperate to make money. So they go grabbed an old film that was a hit and made a "sequel" to it. They got a hot girl, with a cheezy story, and tried to make a quick buck. George Strait did appear in the movie but mostly in small sections. He played a small role in the movie.

At least some sequels try to relate to the original story line. This one had NOTHING to do with it! The only good part of the whole movie is that Katrina Elam is smoking hot. If you must have this movie, shop in the .99 racks somewhere. It will show up there soon!

This movie wasn't what I was expecting, when it first started out. I thought I recieved the wrong movie, but after a few minutes it started making sense. I liked the theme, but didn't think it was anything like the first Pure Country. I enjoyed the songs, and the story line. What I didn't like was the break up in the movie, with the angels from time to time.

My bargain-rack movie a couple night's ago was "Pure Country 2: The Gift" starring Katrina Elam. It was a light and frivolous country music comedy, but quite enjoyable in it's own way. For one, it would help the viewer to like country music. If you do, the music with this movie is quite good. If you don't, well, the music is still pretty good. The story is strictly light-weight, but can still tug at the emotions here and there. It would probably help to believe in God, Angels and things of that sort.

The story begins with Katrina as a little girl and three Angels on high deciding to give her the gift of an exceptionally good singing voice. She could keep this gift as long as she didn't tell a lie, didn't hurt anyone and didn't do something else that I can't remember. In any case, all three things that she couldn't do were things that everyone does. So, as Katrina grows up and becomes a young lady with better and better talents, she ultimately leaves for a try at the big time in Nashville. She quickly becomes established and rapidly advances to the top to the point where she has the top Billboard hit. Number One! However, by this time, she has broken all three vows and the Angels retaliate by taking away her singing voice right at the moment when she is about to deliver a major performance in front of a huge audience. It's a major disaster, of course, and she has to return home in disgrace. At this point, she comes to the realization that she can no longer sing from her voice and she must now sing from her heart. I know, I know, this movie is corny to the core, but it's a fun movie to watch and I enjoyed it. It was also good to see Cheech Martin in a small supporting role. George Strait made a cameo appearance.

I really liked the original "Pure Country," but this one is NOTHING like the original except that you see George Straight a few times. The acting was bad, the little angel scenes were ridiculous and cheesy. I also didn't think the message was great... overall a big disappointment.

It wasn't anything like Pure Country, I bought it to hear and see George Strait and that did not happen in this video

I love any opportunity to see George Strait so I was disappointed that he didn't have a bigger role this time. That being said, the writing was lacking across the board and the overall movie was hokey.

This was not near as good in acting and directing as the first Pure Country and they were a B Grade movie, but that doesn't change the fact that I would recommend it to anyone with a family who wants to hear some good music, watch and entertaining story, and learn some basic truths about life, ethics, and consequences to compromising and lying ones way through it
