Over the course of the last 7 months I have ordered and read many books on Sex Addiction, when I was confronted with my fiances on line sex addiction. (All of the books I proof read before passing on to my fiance.) Books and studies by Patrick Carnes helped the man of my life identify that he had a seriuos problem. The book "Pornography the Drug of the New Millieum" gives insight into the physical and chemical changes sex addition causes, but for many of the people caught in this "sexual bondage" there is considerable damage done to their spirituality. "Pure Desire" offers hopoe not condemnation for the people who have or will shatter not only their lives but the lives of the people they love with this terrible addiction and perception of themselves. Hats off to a man of the cloth who recognizes the needs of his flock and has the courage and heart to address those issues as Dr. Ted Roberts has done. Well done! Oh by the way I am not what you would consider a devout Christian, but I recognize the need for spiritual healing with respects to sex additiction.

This book is a must read for anyone facing their wounds and in desperate need of healing (relating to sex addiction or not). After reading several books related to sexual addiction I can say with certainty this is the best and most comprehensive book. I have since purchased several more copies to pass along to those in need of its wisdom; be it therapists, church leaders, spouses/partners of addicts, or addicts.

This edition includes an additional chapter (Chapter 8: Fitting All the Pieces Together, by Pastor Harry Flanagan) to answer the question, "How does this practically work in a small group or in a church setting?"

If you're one of the thousands of men battling a sex addiction, and you're actively engaged in recovery - struggling with turning your battle over to your higher power - this book is for you! It has been tremendously helpful for me - and uplifting, giving me a great sense of both promise and relief. I highly encourage anybody dealing with sexual addiction to pick up this book.

very solid book, with many practical and effective ways to address the epidemic problem of sexual addiction. i'm on my third reading of the book, and use it in leading a men's group as well. highly recommend it for any man, wanting to walk in purity, and/or lead others on a journey into a true, honest pursuit of purity.

This is a GREAT book on the topic and well worth your time. Get it, read it and benefit from it. That's an order son! I have begun to give copies away now...

I gave it to my son in the Navy and he has found it very helpful in his struggles. This book comes highly recommended.

The information in this book is clearly and insightfully presented. As with any book that "hits the target" for what Gods desire is for us, it can be applied to other areas of our lives as well.
I would recommend this book to any one who desires a clearer view of Gods love towards us and the restored relationship He wants for us.
