Pure Disco, Vol. 3 is a fine installment in this CD series that has so many wonderful disco tunes that we can still enjoy and dance to today! The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is very nicely done.

Sister Sledge starts the whole thing off with her hit, "He's The Greatest Dancer." Sister Sledge sings this really well and that funky 70's disco beat really sounds great! The backup singers do a great job; and the music fits in perfectly with the lyrics, too. Chic also scored a major disco hit with their "Le Freak;" "Le Freak" has the percussion marking the beat and they sing and play this to perfection! The rhythm is very well done and Chic makes this all their own. In addition, The Village People sing "In The Navy" with their usual campy style; but it all works very well and The Village People certainly had their share of success!

"Disco Inferno" by The Trammps is one of my very favorite disco tunes on this entire album; the beat is excellent and The Trammps inject just a touch of soul to make this a strong number. I really like "Disco Inferno" and I think you'll like it, too. Kool & The Gang also score big with their hit entitled "Ladies Night;" "Ladies Night" is terrific and the beat is perfect for dancing. Kool & The Gang really impress me a lot. Listen also for Gloria Gaynor to perform her classic disco number, "Never Can Say Goodbye." "Never Can Say Goodbye" is probably one of the best disco numbers ever written and just one listen proves it! Gloria sings this with all her might and it really shows when you hear this number. Donna Summer's "Could It Be Magic" shines equally bright; Donna was one of the greatest disco queens and she richly deserved this accolade.

"Get Up & Boogie" by The Silver Connection features some very good harmonizing; and the backup chorus works well for this tune. "Get Up & Boogie" has that classic disco flavor and it still sounds great today. Abba's "Lay All Your Love On Me" isn't my idea of a true blue disco tune--but it's so good it should be here on this CD anyway. Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" IS true blue disco--and man, how he could turn out a tune! Andy Gibb's "Shadow Dancing" is an example of a disco number that has a slower beat; and The Four Seasons do great on "December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)." The album ends very well with the "Martian remix" of "You're The One I Want" from Grease sung by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. Great!

Overall, this installment in the "Pure Disco" CD series carries its weight well and there's lots to enjoy. I highly recommend this for disco fans and people who like `70s music may do well to check out this album.

I own all three of the Pure Disco CDs. There were only two songs that really caught my attention and made me glad that I purchased it. I was pretty much funked out by the other two. They have most of the good songs on them. I wouldn't say not to buy it, I would just suggest finding the best bargain for it.

This disc is too spotty as a disco comp for me to consider it truly representative of the best music of the disco ball and platform shoes era. While the best material("Le Freak", "Disco Inferno","Love Machine","In the Navy","Heart of Glass") exemplify what this SHOULD be, other songs are either mediocre ("Get Up and Boogie","Could it Be Magic?"), or else not really representative of the disco era/sound. ("Ladies Night" is NOT disco...even if it is a nice 'club' song. Neither is a REMIXED version of "You're the One that I want"..which wasn't disco to begin with regardless of vintage.)

I would say this is the nadir of the "Pure Disco" series..this one's only for diehards. (And if you're THAT into disco, Rhino has a good series you may prefer instead..7 CDs..called "The Disco Years" which goes beyond the huge hits and recalls some ones that are now forgotten..)

This is the best disco compilation I have ever hear. I looked and looked for a long time for a collection of top disco hits on CD. Most of the ones that I found were collections of unknown artist recreating the original hits. This was the first one I found that had original artist playing the songs. I tried Pure Disco and liked it so much that I bought Pure Disco 2, 3 and Pure Funk! All of them are great! These have great production value too. The graphics on the CDs are a hoot!

If you ordered this CD then you must have Pure Disco 1 & 2, if you don't, order it. All three give you hours and hours of great dance music and is a hit at parties. Pop ths CD in everyone will be up dancing. This is a sure hit for everyone and wil be the topic of your party! DANCE DANCE DANCE..

What on earth makes the compilers think that Lay All Your Love On Me (Abba) and You're The One That I Want (Travolta etc) are disco? Sure they were big hits during the disco heyday but that doesn't make them part of the genre. Apart from that, the selection is great, with the Three Degrees at their dreamy best, Chic & Sister Sledge still sounding fresh, excellent faceless Eurodisco from Silver Convention (Where's the Andrea True Connection?), a good sprinkling of classics: In The Navy, Disco Inferno, You Make Me Feel ... and my favourite, Andy Gibb's Shadow Dancing which remained No. 1 on the Billboard charts for 8 weeks in 1978.

I got this CD at Tower at one of these "as seen on TV!" displays -- cover looked really cheesy but when I got home I was *delighted* at the music! Pretty much the entire CD is jampacked with absolutely delicious grooves guaranteed to make you "shake your groove thing, yeahyeah!"

Yep... it's a good CD but in my opinion, the first one in the trilogy is the best. Any way you will enjoy the tracks if you are a disco music fan. If you just are familiar with that kind of music, and about 30 years old, maybe you can find some unknown songs. It's a good selection.

All I have to say is WOW!!! PURE DISCO 3 is by far extremely better then the first two... I NEVER thought it would be possible! Those groovy songs like "Le Freak", "Disco Inferno", and "Shake Your Groove Thing" make this CD a DEFINTE MUST-HAVE!! I definately recommend this CD to anyone who loves those songs of the 70s.

I love these albums. Get all 3 cause they are great!
