The Title Says It All!!!!, September 4, 2004
This review is from: Pure Dynamite (Zebra Romantic Suspense) (Paperback)
Ms. Bach has delivered another page turning read with her latest effort "Pure Dynamite". This was a fast-paced read with plenty of suspense to keep you guessing as to who the bad guy really is, chemistry between our two main characters and enough twists and turns to keep you wondering whether Adam and Renata will have that happily-everafter they both deserve.
Renata is a hard working doctor that works for an urgent care clinic. She is working late one stormy night when a breath- taking stanger knocks on the door claiming to know her. Her stanger is not what he appears, and after sharing one steamy kiss she finds herself held hostage literally by her mystery man. Renata's well ordered life is about to take a turn towards danger and she will have to put her trust in a man she can't help be attracted too, but at the same time is terrified of, that is until he proves that he is not exactly what he seems.
Adam has just escaped from jail and he has the company of a loud-mouth punk, named Lyle who has not only managed to get himself shot, but has managed to take a cop down with him. What started out as a simple break out has now led to a shooting and the kidnapping of a beautiful lady doctor. He kissed her to get her cell phone and beeper, but what starts off as a simple kiss disarms him in more ways then one. Now he has to take the lovely and fiesty doctor on the road with him. She has to keep Lyle alive or else. He can't help but begin feeling things for her, and their close quarters don't lessen that draw. He has to keep his act together no matter how bad he wants to let down his guard and make Renata his. Will he be able to keep her safe until its time to tell her the truth about himself, or will matters be taken out of his hands by an evil man that will risk anything to remain free?
I'm a huge fan of Ms. Bach and I highly recommend her reads as a very entertaining way to pass the time. Her characters jump off the pages and the chemistry between Renata and Adam is hot. Not because they are constantly jumping into bed together, but instead because of the fact that they aren't. If this is the first time you've ever read Ms. Bach I can guarantee it won't be the last. On the other hand if you've already read her previous titles as I have, you will be anxiously waiting for her to get another one ready for publication!

Yep, it's pure dynamite - yipee!, August 19, 2005
This review is from: Pure Dynamite (Zebra Romantic Suspense) (Paperback)
Pure Dynamite is one of the best books of romantic suspense that I have ever read. It's down to earth, exciting and has interesting well-developed characters. All the action is crammed into a short period of time when Adam kidnaps Renata. Adam is an FBI agent posing as a criminal in order to bring down a vicious crime family. Renata is a doctor and Adam needs her to look after the prisoner he broke out of jail with, the youngest son in the crime family.
The plot is really good, but the characters are better. Adam is protective and possessive towards Renata, and the dangerous situation they find themselves in means that all of his behaviour is realistic and understandable. He doesn't go over the top with the whole alpha male thing either. Renata is fantastic as a heroine. She is brave and resourceful and feminine. She doesn't whine and moan and refuse to eat. She doesn't turn into a raving loony the minute she realises her feelings for Adam. The book was like I believe good romance should be - slick, sexy, fast-paced, characters forced together for a period of time - and voila, romance is served. The book doesn't have flowery descriptions or long angst-filled paragraphs. It is rough n ready, with scalding chemistry (and plenty of respect) between Renata and Adam.
Overall this book is pure fun and perfect escapist fiction. I'm sure you'll like this if you enjoy Linda Howard books such as Dream Man / Heart of Fire etc. Highly recommended to romance readers who enjoy romantic suspense.

Pure Dynamite is sensational, October 26, 2004
This review is from: Pure Dynamite (Zebra Romantic Suspense) (Paperback)
Pure Dynamite explodes off the page with suspense, terror and an all-consuming passion.
FBI Agent Adam Duval is deep undercover trying to bring down a homegrown terrorist family. When a prison break with on of the family members goes bad, he is forced to take a doctor hostage.
Dr. Renata Curtis was planning a quiet evening at home when she is thrust into a nightmare. Renata has to keep her wits about her in order to survive. Her abductor Adam is not what he seems and against her better judgment, Renata is drawn to Adam.
Adam never expected to find a woman like Renata on such a dangerous assignment. He is willing to do anything to keep her safe and get them both out alive.
Pure Dynamite is a thrill a minute read. Each page make you want to read faster. The connection between Adam and Renata is scorching. I hope Adam's (aka Jake Ryan) brother Zach gets his own story soon.
