Some good stuff here,

I own several of John's CDs, but this is probably one of my favorites. It's a little different from most of his work--it's an a cappella gospel choir, but it still has a great feel to it. John ventures from his standard piano compositions, but I think it pays off. The songs reminded me of growing up in church and playing these songs on piano for my great-grandmother. She always liked old gospel music and we would sing along while I would play. Because it's just voices, I like to play it while I'm driving or trying to relax. I like the energy of most of John's music, but it's also nice to have a softer, lower key CD that reminds me of my spiritual roots.

When I ordered this CD I didn't realize it was all vocal. When it arrived I thought I would really be disappointed but what a surprise. I love it and have listened to it dozens of times.

My husband just picked up this album and gave it to me on the weekend. It is just gorgeous; so warm and inviting! The Elite Vocal Choir is very talented, and the songs fill me with happiness. I LOVE Battle Hymn of the Republic. I'm listening to it right now. Thank you John!

I selected this cd for the traditional, old-time gospel songs and music. The arrangements and the words are not the traditional songs. It is an ok cd--I was expecting sometime different.
