5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome knife for citrus
I originally purchased this knife a year ago from Williams Sonoma. I loved this knife so much I wanted to purchase more for gifts, because all my friends commented on how great a knife this is. I was delighted when I found the knife on Amazon, because Williams Sonoma no longer carries the knife. I bought 5 knives this year for christmas gifts. All my friends were thrilled...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sharp Knives! Poor Handle Design
We bought an entire set of these Knives. I read the praise from other Reviewers and they are right. These are wicked sharp and as careful as I tried to be, still wound up cutting myself while cleaning one.

My gripe with these Knives are the Handle material. It is a Hard Plastic. It has no texture, design grip or rubberized coating, etc. It makes it not only...

4.0 out of 5 stars good for a while. not heavy duty. very light., May 5, 2010
This review is from: Pure Komachi 2 Series Citrus Knife (Kitchen)
We have had this for a year or two now, and it still works well. It's light and fairly sharp for its age (never resharpened it). We don't have a dish washing machine, so I can't attest to its longevity under that type of washing.
The non stick coating won't last forever, but I can say it will last a few years, anyway.
We mainly use this knife on lime, lemon, sandwiches, tomatoes, etc.

bottom line-
can't beat it for the price. don't hesitate if it looks right to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slanted cut!, October 17, 2011

I like all my other pure Komachi knives but when I cut lemons this cuts on an angle which is really strange. The colours do make it easy to select your knives and they are fun and modern. This is my least favorite out of my collection, however I am happy with their other knives, so would not discourage their purchase. Mine just may be slightly faulty!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great knife, August 9, 2011
This review is from: Pure Komachi 2 Series Citrus Knife (Kitchen)
This was for a gift. A great knife for a great buy! Holds an edge for quite a while. Sharpens easy and fast. Bought some for myself and everyone who uses them wants at least one for themselves. Only downside is that you cannot use them on frozen foods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these knives!, April 24, 2011
This review is from: Pure Komachi 2 Series Citrus Knife (Kitchen)
I have several of these knives....bread knife, paring, slicing. I love the quirky colors, they make me giggle....
But even more, I love the usefulness, the sharpness of the blades, the ease of cleaning AND the great price.

After the horrible flooding of New Orleans...and the loss of all my "good knives" to the 11 feet of mud and water in my kitchen, I decided I wanted pretty, fun, and, of course, useful in my life. These fit the bill.

Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Komachi 2 handles not as well made as previous ones, March 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pure Komachi 2 Series Citrus Knife (Kitchen)
I've had Komachi knives for a couple of years now and they are still going strong. I bought them on a whim mostly because of the colors, but ended up loving them. Friends and family are impressed with my 'toy' knives when they help out in the kitchen. Despite heavy use the blades have kept their sharpness and I still have to be careful not to cut myself when I use them. I store them on a magnetic knife bar on a side cupboard and people often ask if they are 'real' knives.
My first 4 were larger knives so I decided to get the smaller knives; the citrus knife was one of them. I agree with other reviews about the handles on the knives; defiantly NOT the same quality as my older ones. Hopefully the blades will hold up, but the handles do look cheap. So far so good with the blades; wonderfully sharp and colorful!
I was surprised at the design of the protective storage sheath which is not just a blade cover but lets the knives sit upright in your drawer, almost like a holder - I am thinking of sticking the "sheaths" down with double-sick tape to the bottom of my drawer. The knife just slips right in and stays in place.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sharp Knives! Poor Handle Design, March 4, 2011
This review is from: Pure Komachi 2 Series Citrus Knife (Kitchen)
We bought an entire set of these Knives. I read the praise from other Reviewers and they are right. These are wicked sharp and as careful as I tried to be, still wound up cutting myself while cleaning one.

My gripe with these Knives are the Handle material. It is a Hard Plastic. It has no texture, design grip or rubberized coating, etc. It makes it not only feel super cheap, but outright dangerous for slipping when your hands are wet. I really was not expecting much for $8-10 a knife, but this is not something to overlook. The worst part is if the plastic gets a nick in it; you get a reminder of how cheap these knives are each time you use it, as the bur digs into you hand like a thorn. Sorry, Pure Komachi... I really wanted to like these Knives because the Blade is of fantastic high quality for the price.

Like alot of you, in past years I spent $$$ on all those expensive knives... I discovered this "citrus knife" a few years ago, and while I do use others, this is the BEST all-around multi-purpose knife for me... I keep it within arm's reach always!
