Product Description

Matcha, which means powdered tea, has been enjoyed for over 800 years. Our premium Ceremonial grade matcha is stone ground in the ancient way to produce the finest quality matcha. Unlike regular green tea leaves, which are removed when brewed, matcha is whisked with water and consumed entirely. This ensures that pure matcha drinkers consume almost 10 times more green tea anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals and fibers. Pure Matcha is cultivated in the the Nishio region of Japan. Nishio is in the heart of Aichi-prefecture, Japan. Japan's highest quality teas come from Nishio. This area is known as a historic tea cultivating region dating back to the 1200s. Nishio's stable climate, fresh pristine river waters, fertile soil, and remoteness from major urban development foster tea leaves that are more resiliently green and full of nutrients than those found in any other regions of Japan. It is this quality that Nishio Matcha represents in over 60% of all Matcha sold in Japan. Pure Matcha Ceremonial Grade 30g Tin is extremely rare and almost impossible to find on the web or in stores. The freshness is guaranteed! Each 30g tin is sealed to lock in the freshness. All tins are stored in a cold chamber until shipped (also to preserve freshness). If you love healthy flavorful teas, then you are going to love this rare form of tea! 1 30g tin makes approx 16 - 18 cups

Great quality ceremonial grade matcha.
ZpardoCoral
This matcha mixes well (as others have noted, a bamboo whisk is a necessity... honest!)

The color should be a very bright green, and this tea is.

This is actually even better than the one I got from Republic of Tea. The color is far superior to the one from teazonline, which was extremely POOR quality; a dull olive-green color and not fresh smelling. It's extremely fresh smelling and tasting. Will definitely order more.

I purchased DoMatcha from Whole Foods then read the reviews on Pure Matcha and wanted to try it to see if it lived up to the great reviews. I compared the two directly - the Pure Matcha was much smoother and better tasting overall. It also provided longer lasting sustained energy. I've also noticed that my metabolism seems to be running higher and my nails are growing stronger. I've even gotten my husband to replace his morning coffee with it. Pure Matcha is now a staple in my home!

This is an acceptable premium matcha tea. But if you are looking for the best that Amazon has to offier, this does NOT compare to the DoMatcha 1st harvest organic matcha. I tried DoMatcha and loved it, and I only strayed based on the price...this IS a lot less and the reviews seems good enough. Specifically: It IS about as green as DoMatcha (but not quite) and decently smooth tasting, just not as "bright" as the DoMatcha 1st harvest. I do not like the way it is packaged...as once you open it, it is loose in the tin (versus in a foil pouch), so you are going to lose some powder each time you make it just from opening the container. So even though it is cheaper, and you get a small fraction more, you are technically wasting some of the tea. The tea, also doesn't blend easily with my traditional method of making a paste, then adding milk (I use almond milk) and hot water (not too hot!) and frothing it with the bamboo whisk along the way in stages. Others have talked about having to sift their matcha, and this particular tea would seem to benefit from sifting, but who has time for that if it isn't necessary? I have been making a small pitcher of this tea each morning and there is always sediment at the bottom of the pitcher and my cup and I did not experience this with DoMatcha. So, if you do choose to buy this tea, you will not be unhappy, but you will be happier with DoMatcha 1st harvest organic. I am going to try the 2nd harvest organic DoMatcha and see if that comes close enough to matching the 1st harvest. If so, that will be an even better buy, dollar for dollar..wait for more reviews.

I'm relatively new to the world of matcha but this is so far the brightest and smoothest brand I have tried thus far. And the price is one of the lowest. I keep it refrigerated and it lasts a full month with freshness preserved. It doesn't clump as much as other brands (without sifting) and it tastes great. Love all the health benefits. My energy has improved dramatically with daily brewed matcha tea (and super b complex vitamin)- it has taken a full year to get my vitamin levels back to normal post-chemo and I feel like new again. Wish I had discovered it during chemo to help counter toxicity of meds. No jitters from natural caffeine. Great brand. Is the SUPER super food for antioxidants.

I have tried numerous other matchas, and for the most part have been satisfied. This one, however, is easily my favorite. Being that it is ceremonial grade, I would expect a higher quality than other standard versions. Where it really stands out, though, is its quality for the price. The actual powder is among the most vibrant green that I have seen (tea leaves were young and harvested well), and it has a nice "bright" herbal fragrance. The taste is outstanding (sweet, rich, and fresh), and it blends very easily. The top on the container seals very well, and eliminates the messiness of the inner bag that other brands have. I don't know if it makes sense to describe a tea as "convenient", but this really is. The only other matcha that comes close is the DoMatcha 1st or 2nd harvest, but they are priced in an almost laughable range. They don't taste any better; they just cost more.

I had e-mailed the seller for any tips he had on the best method of preparation, and I actually felt he shared the same love for tea that my wife and I have. Very fast shipping, and good communication. Kudos...

Great matcha! Arrived fresh in a pop-top sealed can, vibrant green color. Taste is not bitter, very smooth - and had no problem dissolving the powder with water. I've recommended to others and will surely grab more in the future.

This Matcha is of great quality, if you have not had Matcha before, or if
you do not want to spend alot of money on the more expensive brands such as
Domatcha, which is one of the best!

The difference in Matchas besides the telling prices, will be the viscosity,
the texture, the nature of its froth and the color. The color should be a very
bright green, and this tea is. This tea, however will not froth very thick after
the pack has been opened and placed in the refrigerator after about two-weeks.
Other very high quality Matchas will keep that capability, due to the inherent
quality of the Matcha itself.

This tea is smooth, and taste very good. If you can't endure the wait of ordering from
Japan, or the price of other Matchas, you will not be dissapointed with this tea. You
also need a bamboo whisk; there is no escaping this necessity! The whisk seperates this
tea evenly within the water, and makes it blend with blue-berry and Pomegranate Juice, which
is what I mix it with, topped off with a Mt.Dew or a little Sprite. Yummy! I love Matcha;
I drink it everyday and hate when I run out. It's good for arthritis, detoxifying the body,
giving you energy and inhibiting depression or stress.

Enjoy.
