Limited entertainment value,

I love pinball-- the real thing, but this game doesn't come close to simulating the fun of playing on a real machine. I have Pinball for SNES, which is actually better. The camera angle on Pure Pinball for Xbox makes it harder to follow the details of what's happening, even when you disable the top glass and its reflection. The sound effects make some of the various tables (Runaway Train, World War, and Hyperspace) more fun, but I still became bored with it within an hour. Not worth the money. If you really love pinball, save your quarters and find a real machine. Or else save your dollars and BUY one.

This game is one of the better pinball games. It has a variety of tables and the graphics are some of the best on the X-box. They have to be seen to be believed. I highly recommend anyone with a love of pinball check out this game.

Realistic Pinball Fun,

I bought this game to add variety to my growing xbox collection(mostly sports games)and I'm glad I did. Here is my basic take on Pure Pinball. Good graphics(nearly photo realistic)good sound(lots of bells and whistles)and amazing true to life pinball physics. Fun Factor? Very fun. Runaway Train puts me in a really good mood, especially around 4:20. To buy 4 real pinball tables would cost between $10,000 and $20,000. For under $20 this game is a steal. I would recommend it to pinball players and anyone that just wants an easy to play and really fun game. Peace.

I bought this game because pinball is one of the only games I can handle to play for any length of time. The game is great but it is not a multiple player game, and it takes a long time for this game to load when switching tables or players

This pinball sim has excellent graphics and sound, However, the complexity of the 3D ramps does not translate well to 2D especially with the scrolling playfield.

Decent Pinball for the Casual Player,

The average person ( if not pinball purists and fanatics ) will enjoy this title just fine. The graphics are detailed, colorful, and nicely rendered. The physics work well and the sound effects are pretty good. You will have to finagle the angle and the view a bit to get a good look at the table. Overall, the price is right ( wasn't Pacman for the 2600 about $10 more when first released ? ) and will take up good amount of your time.p.s. The girls on the box ( as far as I can tell ) have little or nothing to do with the game and only serve to make the buyer look somewhat lecherous. The original pre-release box was better.

This game looked good at first, but after playing each table a few times, various shortcomings become apparent.First, there's no " Plunger " to launch the ball. You just press the A button, and the ball shoots out at the same speed and angle every time. Next, some of the tables have " Cheat moves " where a player can easily repeatedly do a simple ball flip to continuously rack up points. This is just a poor table design and very unsatisfying for a real pinball fan. The graphics look nice, but there are too many spots where the ball is not visible because of poor camera angles. The soundtracks are possibly the best part of this package, each is appropriate to the table's theme. Check out " Williams Collection Pinball Hall of Fame " for some super realistic pinball games with virtually unlimited replayability.

A fine game with plenty of play up until the XBOX was replaced with XBOX 360. Now what use is it?

Good Pinball Game,

The game is good, and the price of under $20 makes it worth it. But for any true pinball enthusiast, the reason I give this game the three stars is the fact that each game gives you five balls, not the traditional three. And you can not change the settings to fix this problem. The graphics are good, and the physics are true to life. The five ball rule is really the only things that takes away from this great game. I would not pay more than the $20 asking price. |
