5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE BOB MC QUILLEN!, December 11, 2001

Rodney miller does a great job of playing Bob's tunes with
Bob. True to Bob Mc Quillen's style (he's written about 10 books
of tunes) this whole CD is great for listening and great
for dancing too!

This CD is wonderful. Rodney Miller does a great job of
playing Bob's tunes with him and other tunes the way Bob likes 'em. Great CD, listen to it over and over!

5.0 out of 5 stars CAN'T BE BEAT, May 17, 2001
By
"harvard-fiddler" (boston, MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pure Quill (Audio CD)
When Rodney Miller and Bob McQuillen team up on fiddle music it is a sure bet and this CD proves the point. It can't be beat. In the form of fiddle and piano/accordian accompanyment this harkens back to old time barn dance music where one would be likely to encounter a fiddle or piano playing. Here the listener gets both. With this CD the listener gets two of the best to make a truely fine and listenable experience. Miller's fiddling with only a piano or accordian as backup up stands out nicely, allowing his highly regarded musicianship to shine through. At the same time McQuillen's accompanyment creates a welcome musical craddle to hold it all together. The selection of tunes is great as well. This CD belongs in any collection of lovers of fiddle music, but it is not likely to be out of the CD player much of the time to languish on the shelf.
