Nice soundscape,

I bought this CD for three specific tracks, and they did not disappoint. Some of this CD was a bit of a disappointment, but all in all, the good tracks really make up for it (The 3 Ambrosia songs are well worth it).

The listening experience was largely very pleasant. The music exceeded my expectations, which is very hard to do. As you know, when purchasing a CD from an artist and/or label for the first time you're making a gamble. We may love it, tolerate it, or hate it. I found the music to be enjoyable enough to listen to on its own merits, not just for background or masking purposes.
Two tracks in particular evoked very positive emotions and memories. Track one started with what sounds very much like a church organ. There was just enough of the sound before it morphed into a more etherial tone. The track was very pleasing. Track 7 sounded to me like an old fashioned upright piano, in a way that gave a slight sense of nostalgia. There were other moments on the CD where I couldn't help but think of the "Switched On Bach" albums that I listened to as a youth. Synth done that way is rarely performed anymore, it was enjoyable. There was one major problem with the CD that ruined the listening experience for me. That is track 15 will not play on my Toshiba DVD player nor my Sony CD only player. I can get a few bars of music, then the deep bass encoding causes the players to malfunction. I thought that there was a physical flaw, but I looked it over carefully and could find nothing physically wrong with it. I placed the CD into my cheap Emerson boombox. It did playback in that with no problem. I will have to remember to program out #15 from now on to be able to enjoy the music, though. Aside from that, the approach and concept are a nice variation on this genre of music.
