This is a fabulous book. I hope it wins the RITA for short contemporary romance. It is one of the best short contemporaries I've read this year, and definitely the *best* BLAZE I've read, and many of them have been *very* good. I agree with what the other people above said, very HOT, and I love a hot read. The premise for the conflict is very believable, and I personally love a "friends become lovers" plot. I also felt the small town theme was extremely well done. I, too, am now looking for more of VLT's books! :)

This enchanting read is about the relationship of two best friends. Tess Blakely, a 26 year old virgin needed her best friend's help, Jeremiah 'Mac' MacDougal to find a sex partner for her. The assignment? Lost virginity. The reason? She was preparing her NY moves, and she was embrassed if anybody know her virgin status. Mac suggested himself as he vowed to keep this assignment to secrecy (after all, he was her best friend). The last thing that both of them expected from this arrangement is simply falling in love with each other. Fast paced and quick witted, not to forget, funny, this is an engaging story with lots of steamy scene. Tess' four very big brothers were simply adorable even though they are over protective about her. Who would have thought that Tess would be falling hard for her own best friend? After all, Mac was her best friend and was considered as an honorary Blakely, like a fifth brother inside the family. A wonderful contemporary short romance, this will surely delights readers. The book will surely touch a woman's soft spot about her own's vunerability.

I like Vicki Lewis Thompson, always enjoy her books, but when I read this new title of hers in the Harlequin Temptation BLAZE line, I couldn't put it down! I was literally reading it in the car (hubby was driving of course) when we had to go out because I wasn't finished the book! It was funny and sexy and a really fun read.

In Coopersville, Arizona Tess Blakely worries about her credibility as a counselor to most likely sexually experienced high school girls in New York City. At twenty-six, Tess remains a virgin mostly due to the rough antics of her four big brothers. However, this summer she has a project to lose her virginity. She starts by borrowing "How To" manuals from the Phoenix public library system.

Tess turns to her best friend Jeremiah "Mac" MacDougal for assistance in locating the right candidate for the job without her siblings finding out what she plans to do. Desperately wanting to refuse to help her, Mac knows that when Tess sets up a summer project, she goes ahead and completes it. Mac cannot live with Tess having sex with anyone but himself. They share a sexual experience, begin to fall for one another, but realize they can never go back to being just buddies. However, a permanent relationship seems even more remote because he is an Arizona rancher and she is a New York counselor.

The pages of PURE TEMPTATION blaze like a wildfire as Vicki Lewis Thompson scribes a hot romance. The story line is exhilarating (keep your significant other handy - pun intended) as the lead couple heat up the sheets. Though graphic at times, fans of Venus-hot contemporary romances will take much pleasure from Ms. Thompson's torrid tale.

Vicki Lewis Thompson consistently provides readers with a spectacular story, but Pure Temptation rises above the rest. Witty, sexy, a pure delight. This is one book you won't want to miss.

Vicki Thompson Lewis sure can scorch the sheets! Always with love in the foreground, these two characters enact some eye-opening foreplay. Good story, good steam, good read.

Once I started reading this book, I COULD NOT put it down! I had to know how Mac would react to Tess' request to help her find someone to "deflower" her. When Mac decided it should be him, I realized I would then have to continue reading to find out how they would deal with this change in their long time friendship. This book was both sweet and sensual. IT IS A MUST READ! This is definitely a keeper! I immediately fell in love with the characters and found Tess' 4 over protective brothers to be a great twist in this story, especially since it hit so close to home. I commend Ms. Lewis on writing a great book and hope she continues to give us more books like this. All of these characters are unforgetable. I'm already searching the web for more books by Ms. Lewis!

Vicki Lewis Thompson has a way with words that outshines many, many other authors. Her first Blaze is one of the best! Hot, funny, hot, intelligent...did I say hot? A fresh concept, a playful tone...a great book. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!

Overall this is a good book. I'd give it 5 stars for the love scenes, however the amount of verbage lowers the book rating.
